Site visits and resort stay choices - HELP

Recommended Posts

So I'm trying to fit a lot into a short period of time - Am I crazy and what do you think?

Day 1 - Arrive mid-afternoon Cancun airport, visit Azul Beach and Azul Vew showcase room

Night 1 - Stay at Paradisus Riviera Cancun

Day 2 - morning mtg with PRC WC

Day 2 - possibly look into offsite options through Yazmin in Puerto Morelos (if I love Azul Beach for hotel (they won't allow me to get married there due to my wedding size).

Day 2 - day visit Grand Sunset Princess (anyone know how to schedule a mtg?)

Night 2 - Stay at Grand Sirenis OR Grand Palladium - huh.gif?? - Which of these should I stay at? I don't have time to stay at both! Tour/mtg w/WC at one of them

Day 3 - Visit the other choice (btwn Grand Sirenis and Grand Palladium) and meet w/WC there

Day 3 - Lunch at Al Cielo and mtg with WC there

Night 3 - Stay at Dreams Tulum and meet with WC there

Day 4 - make decision, return to Cancun airport for mid-afternoon flight.

note: Grand Sirenis and Grand Palladium may be for our stay only and I may get married at Al Cielo.

Well I was told you get the best feeling for a place by staying there b/c then you see the kinks of it all - and the beach/water and the food are important to me so...ugh I don't know! I forgot about CRT - that was supposed to be on the list for visiting around the same time as Grand Sirenis and Palladium. I think I need to change my flight to add an extra night sad.gif.

Honestly it sounds like you are trying to do a LOT. If at all possible I would DEFINITELY add on another night. Generally I find myself just getting used to things by day 3 & 4 - and that's just staying at 1 hotel! Also, if it were me I would narrow the amount of hotels you physically spend the night in to 2 hotels that you are considering for you & your guests to stay in. It really does sound like a lot of moving around. You can still make day time appointments to go visit the other places but at least you can cut down the time spent packing/unpacking/traveling by 50%. I hope that makes sense...

On a positive note, it sounds like you are really motivated! cheer2.gif I think you will get a lot out of your visit with that mindset - just try not to overwhelm yourself.

I did a whirlwind tour similar to yours (different places, but similar in number and running up and down highway 307). It was busy, yes, but we managed to get a really good idea of all the places. Stayed at the ones we were most interested in, and I will say that -- while not relaxing -- it really helped us get a good idea for the places. Just entering a bedroom in one of them told us it wasn't anywhere we wanted to be...and spending time with people working in another place made plopping down our suitcases just feel like home.

We did it in 5 days, four nights. I will say that your day three seems pretty crowded and might benefit from stretching it out into one more day, if you can afford it. If not, well, I think you'll do just fine. =)

Good luck!

lyrebard, Where did you look and where did you stay? I'm still undecided about the last night - either Dreams Tulum if I decide buffet is ok, Grand Palladium if I decide I'm for sure having the wedding at Al Cielo, Azul Beach if I get stuck on Azul View?, or some little place in Tulum or Isla Mujeres if I hate the rest of the area? Obviously I'm clueless! I've read too many forums!

lovefreddy, I'll definitely post pics!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
