I think they leave them up there until they're too raggedy to get used anymore. We did our wedding by the Seaside Grill and the previous day, they took the poles down which completely freaked me out since they did not put them back up right away. They weren't even up yet the morning of the wedding. But by ceremony time, everything looked perfect. I'm sure Sandra can have them cut the poles to a taller height for a 6'6" person (I think they cut the poles from the mangrove.) I would however, tell her exactly how tall you'd like the poles to be above the sand.

Congrats! You both look great! I can't wait to be there next year. I'm really glad you were able to go the Ruins and take pics. I will have to remember to no wear my dress there but bring it along to change into. Were you able to take pics of you infront of the ruins?

Looking forward to reading a full review of your wedding and stay at DT.

Oh and more pictures would be awesome!smile29.gif

You two look amazing! Beautiful pictures! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of them!

Sorry for one more question - but did you wear your wedding dress for your TTD session, or is it a different one? I couldn't tell from the pic and I'm still deciding on what to do about mine ... (the duiponi silk apparently won't survive the water pics ...)

I wore my dress to the TTD. Mine was a silk tafetta. The texture of the dress is a little different now, but all in all it survived the sand and saltwater fine from what I can see. I haven't taken it to be cleaned yet. My best friend's parents own a dry cleaning chain and they said the salt water prob. ruined it. I guess we will see. I went into the water with the idea that if it did ruin the dress, I was ok with it. Most people only wear their dress one day; I wore it two in a row. I figured I already got 2 x what most people get out of it. My mom had the hardest time with the pictures b/c she and my step-dad paid for the dress. If plan on saving your dress forever and keeping it in great condition, get a second dress for the shoot.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
