BM gifts...help!

Recommended Posts

I've been slowly accumulating things for BM gifts. I have no idea what my grand scheme picture is for these gifts and I'm looking for some creativity that I just can't seem to find!

What I have:

1. Black & White polka dot purse/bag from Gap ($6 each on clearance)

2. Make up travel 2 go kits from E.L.F. ($5 each)

3. Small perfume from Banana Republic ($10 each)

SO....what the heck else am I getting to fill up these bags?!?! They're not too big, like a medium sized purse. I got an 8x8 photobook for my sister (MOH).

My ideas are:

~gift certificate for the resort spa

~paying for a really cool excursion in Jamaica

~some sort of jewlery-ish thingy

~Jamaica-themed things/things they can use in Jamaica (Bob Marley CD, snorkeling set, sarong, etc)

HELP! All ideas are very much appreciated!

I put this in the other post, but will put it here as well.

Heidi, I think you should get them necklaces to wear for the wedding. Most BM's do not buy a necklace for the wedding because the bride usually gets them one. So, you might want to get that and put it in a bigger box that way it takes up quite a bit of the purse space. My BM's loved the necklace I got them and I think they worked out to $11 each from ebay. And I know you get get them way cheaper than that on ebay, I was just really picky.

What about a manicure kit as well, those are pretty cheap.

I guess it depends on how much you wanted to spend. The spa gift certificate would be a good idea, but not sure how much you would want to spend on that. Plus, it limits them to using it while they are there. Jewelry might be the better option that way they can wear it for the wedding, and have it as a keepsake. You'd probably end up spending less on that than you would on the gift certificate.

I voted for the excursion because it would be something that they might not have been able to do otherwise especially with the cost of traveling. Plus it would make the trip just a little more memorable (although being in Jamaica is great as it is). I think jewelry is always a safe bet but I have been given jewelry in almost every wedding I have been in and I don't ever really wear it. I guess it is kind of expected so I would do the unexpected.

i thought about getting my bms an excursion or a mani/pedi, but then my mom pointed out that in the long run, they'd appreciate something they could keep rather than an experience...i'm getting bracelets for mine, but what about a coverup for over a bathing suit? maybe one in wedding colors, or personalized, or jamaican colors (tho i dont think i'd wear a jamaican colored one). i also toyed with the idea of a nice anklet...

I voted for a gift certificate to the spa at the resort. I'm getting my BMs one and they told me how excited they are about it. Some other ideas...I got my BMs: personalized tote bags (ebay seller Linen Classics), pink/green jewelry pouches (I think these are your colors too and they're very inexpensive...HansonEllis Unique Wedding Favors - Wedding Party Favors - Bridal Shower Favors), cute beach-themed photo albums (Kohls), starfish necklaces (Kohls), luggage tags (Target).

I think they will love any of the things you've chosen, they are all wonderful gifts!

I did pearl necklaces for my BM's. I would say if you do the spa day, try to see if there is anyway to do it all together, that would be so much fun. That was one thing I didn't have time for but we had planned on doing it and I feel like I would have really liked to have done that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
