I have recently joined this forum as I want to make sure my future wedding is just perfect.

I have got lots of idea's from brides on the forum but most seem to be getting married at the Riu.

Is there anyone else getting married at Sunset Jamaica Grande.

Dave and i will be getting married at 11am on 11th April 2008.

Looking forward to hearing from other brides.

I'm not getting married there, but I am spending part of my honeymoon at a different sunset resort - Sunset at the Palms. For a lot of us, there isn't someone else getting married at our resort, but I think a lot of the issues, ideas, etc carry through regardless of your location. There are a lot of people going to RIU, but not all of us :)

We haven't booked an exact location yet but Sunset Grande is one of our options. We can't seem to get a date in place for when we want to get married due to family and personal conflicts. I have looked into both resorts and am skeptical about the reviews for Sunset Grande but know that Riu books up quite quickly. Have you heard anything about Sunset Grande and how quickly they book up?

I just wanted you to know that I met with my travel agent and she said that she just did a wedding at Sunset Jamaica Grande and they loved it. Apparently the couple has been going there for the past couple of years and likes it. Tell me how it progresses and if you hear anything from the wedding coordinator there.

Hi all,

Im certainly feeling more confident about things. Im going to just sit back and hope things all fall into place. I haver my dress and the girls have bridesmaid dresses.(the men are still yet to sort there clothing out). That will be us done, the rest will happen when we get there. As there is only 8 of us, it will be low key, so should go smoothly.

I was hoping to here from people that might be there at the same time.

My wedding coordinator has answered any questions i've asked so far, so im feeling quite confident there.

Let me know if you have any more advise.(or if you think im being too laid back)

No you're not being too laidback. Wedding planning should not be stressful, it should be a momentous time in our lives. Since you have already booked your wedding with Sunset Jamaica Grande, do you think you can help me out since I am in the process of possibly booking with them? Do you have price quotes? How are you decorating the wedding location? Have you asked about photography prices there? How much were the extras..?? I really want to know a base price of what I should expect to pay if I go with them.

Hi allaboutodd

As its a second marriage for both of us, we wanted a low key wedding, so there are only 8 of us going and 3 are our children. We aren't going to decorate the wedding location, just use the gazebo they have on offer. There are a list of prices for extra's on the website, If you cant find this, i can e-mail you the prices. As far as i understand, there is a photographer that will take pictures anyway, then you just choose the ones you want.

I have just read an amazing review about a wedding that took place on the 27th November. (its through trip advisor, type in sunset jamaica grande trip advisor and then go to forums, )

Hope this helps, Let me know if you book and we can swap notes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
