Hi ladies! My wedding is May 13 2017. I was planning on sending my save the dates out soon (atleast by June) but having alot of mixed reactions from friends and family saying it's too early. Literally everything I read on line says the earliest the better.

The wedding will be in Jamaica and I have a wedding website that will be on the save the date. The only thing keeping me from sending them yet is my guest can't book their flights until July for next may.

Any thoughts ladies?

I think the sooner you send them out the better. Are you working with a travel agent? If so then I feel like sending them out earlier can give your guests time to plan and save for the trip and can work out payment arrangements if necessary.

@@Kcusack89 I agree with @@tiffanyt, the sooner the better. The further out people know it's a destination wedding, the more time they have to prepare. While we sent ours out about 11 months out (and I wish we could have sent them sooner), FI had told a lot of our friends and family that we were planning on a DW, so they were prepared.

The earlier the better. You want the most people to plan to take time off, book flights etc.

You are doing it right.

Go grab a glass of wine and pat yourself on the back ; )

My wedding is June 2017 in Mexico. I mailed invitations with instructions to RSVP and more importantly, book a room. We did a group contract for the rooms and we wanted guest to have ample time to pay for rooms and flights. Around January, we will secure a group rate for flights.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
