Hey everyone!

Our ceremony date and venue is booked for Nov 11, 2017 at Grand Sunset Princess. We're working with a TA and got a room block booked and deposits are due in 2 weeks. I'm waiting to see how many guests we have before we book our reception (a lot of guests are not willing to commit this far in advance)  Wedding website is up and running. I'm still in the process of convincing the FH that we need a photographer and/or videographer, so that's still up for review.

So glad to have found this forum!

@@Hola20162 We went with weddingwire.com so far it's been great for what we need. But a bunch of my friends went with mywedding.com it seems it's more customizable?

I used weddingwire.com as well and love it! It was super easy to use and the ability to create guest lists and track your RSVPs, meal selections and even create a seating plan is awesome. No complaints so far. It will surely be a life saver!

The photographer was my hardest decision so far. It's SO expensive but I figure at the end of the day, the photos are what you will have to look at decades later after some of the memories have faded. It took a little convincing as my FI had sticker shock but at the end of the day, he just wants me to be happy. And after I showed him examples of the photographer's work, he was blown away that they were "art" and not just the cheesy posed photos of yester year. It is definitely one of the harder (and more expensive!) decisions to make. Good luck!

Hello everyone! I'm getting married September 2, 2017 in Negril Jamaica. We originally were planning on a Sandals Weddingmoon, but since my fiancé's family is Jamaican, we decided to go with a smaller hotel and have more of a casual real Jamaican vibe. We're on a budget and most of our guest are too.

We're currently trying to choose between the beach and the cliffs. Negril Tree House on the beach and Negril Escape on the cliffs. Both look wonderful and have excellent reviews.

If anyone can give any advice as to photographers and DJ's I'd really appreciate it. I'm a HUGE Reggae music fan. The music is more important to me than almost anything!

Thank you!

Hi Everyone!!

My fiancé and I are getting married on August 4, 2017 at Now Larimar in Punta Cana. I know everyone says the time will fly but we are just so excited for it to finally get here! We are currently trying to decide on a photographer and decide on bridesmaid dresses. I always thought I had an idea of what I wanted but now that I'm looking I love so many different ideas and styles! This planning is definitely not easy! Best wishes to you all during your planning!  :)

@@Aparke10 Hey girl! Just read your post and you are going to LOVE Majestic Elegance!! My best friend got married there and my sister got married next door at Colonial. The resort is gorgeous and the perfect size for a wedding! It honestly has everything you and your guests will need and more! You made a great choice! Let me know if you have any questions as I would love to answer them for you.

We will be getting married May 19th 2017 at Grand Sunset Princess in Mexico !!!  We moved quite quickly after getting engaged and decided on the resort, sent out invitations and made our wedding website with 6 weeks of getting engaged.

Our deposits were due mid-July and we currently have approximately 65 guests booked in .. there are a few stragglers that may decide to book last minute.

So far we haven't done too much planning with our co-ordinator at the resort, but we have picked our ceremony location and time as well the reception area. We have also booked an external photographer! Less than 9 months to go.. I feel like I have so much left to do, but sometimes don't know where to start!

Happy planning everyone  :)

@@gaichan We chose the same resort :) It looks beautiful and all the wedding reviews sound amazing! There is a Facebook group that has past and present brides posting questions, photos, reviews of services, etc. I have found it very helpful so far!

Hello Ladies! We're getting married 4/28/17 at Azul Fives in Playa Del Carmen. We're still negotiating the wedding contract, but we're suppose to have it signed with deposits in by Sept. 7. I'll feel so much better when that's done and we can move forward with the planning.

Anyone have any idea what the average savings are on rooms with group rates? I'm getting the feeling that it's less about the rates and more about the promos.

I am getting married in November -destination wedding.

So far the resort, entertainment, DJ, Videographer, Photographer, Travel agent, notary, wedding coordinator, exact ceremony location and dinner is booked.  The invitations have gone out, guests have till February to RSVP.

Only major thing left is the dress....not too important:)  It is not as fun as the Say Yes to The Dress TV show makes it appear to be.  I have not found my dress but only been to two stores.  They say when you know you know but running out of time as they say it takes 8 months to order and alter.

I am still not sure what the groom and groomsmen will be wearing.  Once guests RSVP I will know how many are coming so I can being to plan tall he little details and decorations.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
