Need Help! Mexico 2017 Wedding

We got married at the Grand Sirenis in the Mayan Riveria. I felt it was very budget friendly. Both for guests and wedding packages. In 2015 our Alberta guests paid $1565 all in for 7 nights and our Ontario guests $1465. We had 45 people and a lot of extras for around $5500 Canadian. I agree with Ann, your TA should be helping to guide your decision!

Hello,

We are planning on getting married at the Barceló Maya Colonial in Feb 2017.  I found that the prices there for both travel packs for the guests and weddings are very reasonable.

Anyone else out there considering Barceló or have any pros/cons :)

We are in the process of booking Hyatt Ziva in Cancun for 2017! We visited there a few weeks ago and I cannot emphasize enough how absolutely stunning the property is!! We took a wedding tour and really liked the different venue options and Jessica the wedding coordinator has been so sweet and helpful in answering all my questions that have come up since then. Good luck and happy planning!

Hi there - the future husband and I are also looking at booking in Mexico 2017/early 2018. We will be seeing a Travel Agent next week to get the ball rolling and narrow down resort choices but we like Mexico (I have heard it's the best price wise). I cannot recommend the Barcelo Deluxe resort in Riviera Maya enough - went there for a wedding and it was beautiful. Good luck with your planning  :)

Hey, we have booked to get married may 2017 at the grand bahia tullum, the price was amazing and with half the wedding party being children under 10 we needed a child friendly hotel. I have just booked the wedding package through Thomas Cook. We are all staying at the resort so no need for drink package and our meal will be taken off our a la carte allowence for the holiday. I'm assuming the photographer is the hotel based one we get 10 pics with the package but my father in law to be has a nac with cameras so he is going to take most pics. The only thing I'm worrying about is flowers (I know I have a year) but from pictures I've seen all looks amazing x

Hi KarinaL and others in the forum. Wishing you a warm and friendly welcome from everyone here on the BDW forums.

Just reading through some of your desired options, such as not having a wedding on a beach, but potentially avoiding the windy aspects of a sky roof terrace and wanted to also recommend Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe for their gazebo location that is moments from the beach, but without the nuance of sand, plus eliminating the potential wind problems with being located on a roof. Barcelo also offers a private interior space for the reception, which is another item you had expressed an interest in.

For some Barcelo inspiration, we're including 5 of our favourite photos from Andrea & Mich's wedding at the gazebo with the interior private reception following. If you want to see the entire day from this wedding, feel free to follow this link to our direct portfolio page: http://www.jasminandmatt.com/portfolio/andrea-mich/

Another great resort that has a lot of options, including a gazebo ceremony space not located on the sand or on a rooftop is Grand Palladium. The gazebo is located on the grass, in a semi-private space (a walkway that is rarely used, is nearby) and allows for luscious foliage to surround the space, and your guests. You can see the space from the attached 3 photos for Kristi & Gord's wedding there this past April.

Both of these resorts have very fair prices, which I know you stressed was an importance for you and your guests.

For any additional questions about either of these resorts, or other resorts we have worked at that offer similar options, don't hesitate to message us here, send a PM or feel free to email us directly.

Cheers!
Jasmin & Matt

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
