We were all set to get one, even had a contract written up - but then Dreams had a couple promotions - one for $112/night/person and then one for $106/night/person and we encouraged all of our guests to book for those cheaper rates. Since our room block rate was $129/night/person it was a much better deal! And most people booked pretty early, so we didn't need the room block afterall.

Wow thanks so much for posting this info! How far in advance did everyone book? Our wedding date is around the same time of year yours was: 6-5-09.

I have been debating between the RIU hotels and Dreams.... while I'd like a big resort, you can't beat the privacy of the beach at Dreams!

From what I've seen the RIU properties are beautiful too. I stayed at Dreams and loved it so I'm inclined to go that way. Something to consider is location, they are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Dreams is much closer to town if that matters to you :)

We sent out our STDs in Dec. - Jan. I think, and then most people booked any time between then and April - but I can't remember when these promotions came out - most people booked when these were announced!

I just tried to book my wedding for April 18th, 2009 at Dreams and they are already booked. She said they have the 20th and 16th available but I don't think anyone will be very happy about having the wedding on a Monday. I'm really bummed. Did I wait too late to try and book it or what?

Wow - these places rally do book up fast! I am sorry to hear your date was taken....booo!! I am planning for fall of 2009 - I better get on it!

Do the Dream's brides out there mind answering a few questions as I wait to hear back from some WC's??

Must the bride and groom stay at Dreams resort? We were hoping to gift our wedding party with a Villa for 5 nights while the rest of our guests stay at Dreams. I wonder if it is possible to hold the event there without staying there. ...anyone know?

Are you happy with the Dreams WC or would you suggest an outside one?

Were you happy with the Dreams photog or would you suggest an outside one?

Thanks is advance - the pics from Dreams weddings look beautiful!

i don't know if you have to stay at dreams. to be honest, we didn't feel it was right to invite our friends to vacation with us/for us, and not stay with them...which is why we didn't go to another resort for our honeymoon afterwards. if we could do it again, we would have stayed at dreams until everyone left and spent our last 4 nights elsewhere (only for a change of scenery - we had been there for a week by then).
gaby is great! she works really hard as a wc and as a waitress, so it takes awhile for her to respond, but as you get closer to the wedding, her responses get faster.
i had an outside photographer, so i don't know about the dreams one.
click on my review for more info -it's in my siggy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
