Hi guys,

I need to ask your help on this. I have been planning on using a passport template for my save the dates, and I pretty much had every detail planned for them. In the mail today I get my friend's wedding invitation and guess what her invitation is?? A passport! She's not having a destination wedding but the theme of her wedding is "around the world". Now I feel like I can't do the passport any more because of this. The template I was planning on using does look much different from hers (in case that matters). I have heard a few different opinions on what I should do so I'm torn. Should I come up with something else or should I go with my original plan? I still want to do boarding passes for my invite so using that as a save the date is not an option. I'm open to any suggestions and opinions. What would you do??

Thanks in advance!

Go for it - do what you wanna do. It's your wedding and you had this idea long before she sent hers in the mail. Would you not have a DW because someone else you knew was? No!!! So go for it I think :) I personally wouldn't even have thought twice :)

I mean you didn't buy the same wedding dress as her - that I can see as causing a ruffle but a STD? Seems so silly so I still stand behind my decision to move forward. If you wanted to 'break the ice' send an email/text and go 'OMG love your invite you will die when you see my STD' :)

As my best friend would say -- Girl, do you :) Go forth with your own plans and don't let what another person is doing hinder you from what you want to do. While you guys may be sharing a similar invitation, what you have that she doesn't is a fabulous destination wedding for your guests to attend. That alone will set you two apart. A wedding is an experience when you truly get the chance to design/do as you please -- so make it your own and don't look back!  ;)

@tiffanyt  I agree with the others. Go for it!! Do whatever you want. You'll have your own wording and colours and design so they will still be different. Besides - you have the cat's meow. You're the one that really is doing a DW so you're the original! I agree with @calgarybride2015  You didn't buy the same dress; you don't have the same date. It's still completely your wedding! Have at it for sure!!!  Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
