Hi Everyone!

So I have officially booked my wedding at Grand Sirenis Rivera Maya for January 2017. I made my own STD and emailed them out to all my guests. Deposits are due beginning of April and it was my thought that once I find out who is officially coming I will only send those people a formal invitation as a cost saving measure as I'm on a tight budget. So my question is do I really need RSVP if I already know these people are coming? What have you done for your wedding? Any advice is appreciated.

We sent email STDs and then sent formal invitations later. We did send the invitations to everyone, as we felt like some people would like to receive paper invitations (like grandmas, etc.) and there were also still people who weren't sure if they were going to come (even though our deposit deadline had passed). I put an RSVP date on it, but I didn't include RSVP cards at all. I directed everyone to our wedding web site which had an RSVP form on it. A lot of people still never replied either way. Given that our wedding is a month away, I'm assuming if I haven't heard from them, they are not coming!

If you only send them to people who've put a deposit down then no RSVP is needed. If they back out your TA will know and advise you.

That said I personally would send an invitation to everyone because as said above some people are unsure early on or some people want to book outside your party and this gives them the opportunity to be reminded and have the info. So if you did this yes an RSVP date is needed.

I used a free wedding website that people used to RSVP to save on mailing stamps and the like. If you want it done by mail then you'd have to include the card. Good luck

Thanks Ladies for the advice! I sent out just under 200 STD due to my parents having large extended families. I grew up having relationships with all my aunties, uncles and cousins so I didn't want anybody to feel left out. In saying that I only estimate btwn 20-30 people will actually book so that's why I thought I would only send to those I knew were coming. I never thought of people who might book later or outside of our party.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
