Please Help! Looking For An Affordable Cheap Resort To Have My Wedding

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! :) I am looking in getting married in November 2016. I am barely starting to plan it but there are so many places. What is a nice cheap resort in cabo that includes everything I need for my wedding? I'm planning on having about 50 guests. My budget is $10,000 do you think I can plan something nice with that amount? Has anyone gotten married in cabo. If so which resort and how much did you pay? My guests aren't planning on staying in the resort. They are staying in cheaper hotels. I am open to other ideas but I my dream wedding is on the beach. All I care about is the ceremony, music and food. Please help!

@Emilychristine92  Congrats and welcome! First question - do you have a travel agent yet? Choosing a TA will be the best first step you can take to put your wedding planning in motion. A TA will help you with what you want and don't want and help you with your budget as well as the budget for your guests. As well, you might not realize it but by booking at a resort with your guests, you might be entitled to some additional perks. Only a travel agent experienced with destination weddings will be able to tell you that. Plus, it lets you have your time free to work on your wedding details while the TA can answer your guests questions and help them with travel arrangements. you don't say if you're in the US or canada but the owners of this site are destination wedding specialists and can assist brides to be on both sides of the border. You can contact them through this site. As Joyce mentioned, resorts require your guests to stay there in order to attend your wedding. By the sound of it, an off site venue might work better for you.

Good luck!

Hi Emily! Welcome to the BDW site :) It's great that you've already chosen a location, Cabo is beautiful! And often times, picking the general location for your destination wedding can be the hardest decision to make.

If you haven't already chosen your resort, I suggest reaching out to one of the BDW Travel Agents if you want to get some ideas on pricing. They Specialize in Destination weddings.  You can contact them HERE! One thing you will have to consider because you mentioned that your guests will be staying elsewhere, is that some resorts will make you responsible for paying a surcharge or day-pass fee for each guests that is not staying at your wedding venue resort. So definitely keep that in mind because it will affect your budget greatly.

But again, a great place to start with your wedding venue search is to reach out to one of the BDW agents. They are a great resource of information!!!

Hi @@Emilychristine92!

Congrats on your engagement! I am a newlywed that got married at the Riu Santa Fe in Los Cabos on April 26, 2016. My wedding was PERFECT and i couldn't be happier!! We had our wedding ceremony on the beach, had a semi private dinner (it felt private I couldn't tell the difference) and then rented out the Tequila outdoor bar from 8-11pm with a private DJ. We started off the reception with a slideshow of our lives, then got right into dancing. We had an open bar and cut the cake here and had our speeches, bouquet toss and garter toss. It was amazing.

The total cost of everything listed above was about $9800 USD. I would definitely recommend !! If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
