Thank you all for the kind welcome!

Right now I am working on reading through some of the information that is already on this board. I might have some specific questions about the resort we are going to and if I don't find the answers I will post them and hopefully someone will have an answer.

I emailed Katie this morning and let her know about this site, but as far as I know she isn't here yet. She's pretty busy as she just got back from Florida last weekend and started a new job this week, so maybe once she has some time she may visit this site.

Right now it seems that her fiance is the one dealing with the travel arrangements and the resort stuff, and Katie is busy writing lists. I keep telling them to tell me what to do as I feel I should be doing something :)

Hi and welcome to the forum! Your daugher is so lucky to have her mom be involved! I too am getting married at RIU Vallarta! We are getting married November 8, 2008. Actually we are going down there the Thursday after Thanksgiving (this year). I'll be meeting with the coordinators there and will be doing a walk through of the properties. I have a TON of questions! I will definitely share our info when we get back. I can hardly wait to get there!

How many people are going down? We have possibly 50. I know when we are there this time we are going to meet with Pie inthe Sky bakery to look at cakes and get pricing. There is another member on this site who just got married at RIU Jalisco. She has some STUNNING pictures. Her name is Raeka. See if you can find her pics. It will give you some what of an idea since the RIU Jalisco is right next to RIU Vallarta.

Take care and congrats!

I will certainly be interested in what you find out when you visit. The bride and groom are pretty easy going as far as the arrangements go and they are going with the resort for as much as possible.

Currently we have about 30 people booked and coming from Toronto, Canada. We have 2 confirmed coming from AZ, USA, and a couple more possibles there. Then we have some unconfirmed guests from the UK. So I think there might be as many as 40 but probably around 30.

I did see Raeka's pictures, very beautiful.

I'd be very interested in any experiences anyone has with the resort salon for hair and makeup. If there is nothing else for me to fret over I guess I'll do it over my own hair :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
