Newbie Planning Wedding In Aruba, Need Help Asap!

Hello all,

My fiance and I got engaged in October, and we are trying to plan our destination wedding for July 2017. We picked Aruba because it was the one destination, no one we know has been to. I know of 2 people, but it was from cruise, so that doesn't count. I've always wanted to got here as a kid ever since I saw a tv commercial for it.  It will be my fiance's family first real family trip together. My family on the other hand has taken a few, so I really wanted to make this wedding very special. His mother passed away last year and there are 6 siblings, ho are all taking it hard especially my fiance. I also lost my parents at a young age, so it will be all on us to support the costs. So I want to plan a wedding with lots of personal touches within our means. We also want to save for a house and have a family right way. We both are in our 30s so we are ready.

Here is my dilemma, we decided to go down to Aruba first to check things out. We are leaving this month Feb 29th...AHH!! I would absolutely love it if you guys knew of locations to put in my itinerary to visit first. I want to make this trip as full as possible with scouting opportunities and getting valuable information from EVERYWHERE!! We will have some fun too :)

ANY information you lovely former destination attendees can give me would be greatly appreciated. I'll take advice on anything.

Thank you soo much in advance!!!!

I went to a destination wedding there. The island is lovely, however I felt it was very expensive compared to every other Caribbean country and Mexico I have been to. So my friends were complaining. Don't know how much weddings cost (my friend is aruban so got deals). Will be interested to see if you can get an affordable package. They also don't have a lot of all inclusives ( the one I visited the Divvy was pretty trashy) but I know they have a riu . We stayed at the Marriott which was nice and the wedding was at Manchebo which was nice as well ( on eagle beach which is the quieter beach than I think Palm beach which is more party). I'd highly recommend renting a car for a day and driving to more remote beaches like Baby beach and eat at Flying Fish ( tables literally in the surf so you have to be barefoot). The best thing we did was do an extreme jeep tour ( as part of the island is very rocky/desert). Let me tell you that was hair raising!

Thank you so much for the tips. Yea that's fine on the all inclusive but great advice abt the beaches as we would like a more romantic feel. Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
