What To Do With My Hair And Make Up?! Help!

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

I am 10 weeks away from my destination wedding day (whooo hooo!) and still can't decide what to do with my (and my bridesmaids) hair and make up.  I'd like to pay for my 2 bridesmaids hair and make up as a thank you for standing up for me at my wedding, and I think it would be fun to get pampered on the day of the wedding. But with the weak Canadian dollar now, I don't know if I can afford it. Do we do our own? Do we spend the $155/person to get our hair done at the resort and do our own make up? Or do any of you have any recommendations for me (I have already read the vendor reviews and contacted a few of them who seem to be quite expensive). Has anyone gone to a salon in PDC to get it done there instead of on the resort?

Any (urgent) help/advice would be much appreciated!

Robyn

Lucky you the Riu Palace Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, Mexico is super close to the central so the are plenty of local spa that are affordable.

I was trying to attach the file but couldn't for some reason, feel free to reach out i can share with you the lists.

Some of the local spas are being owed by Canadians plus the prices are in the local currency..

Happy Planning!

We used the styling trio out of playa del Carmen 4 years ago for my sisters wedding. I can't remember what we paid, and they don't have prices on their website. They were amazing! We all looked gorgeous and they came to us! Perfect way to start a wedding day!

@@rbehlke I used Styling Trio but yes - with the dollar the way it is they will be expensive unfortunately. I don't know what your spa charges on the resort but it's so worth being pampered on your wedding day! If there is a way to find the funds I highly recommend it!

Thank you ladies! After thinking more about it, I think we are going to do our own make-up so now I'm just looking for places in PDC to get our hair done. Don't want to be paying the extra $200 vendor fee to have them at the hotel (I might as well use the hairdressers onsite if that's the case!).

@@rbehlke, you can contact Keri, who is actually Canadian and owns the Go Diva Spa. here is the link to her website. the good thing is the prices are in mexican peso. Right in the heart of playa del carmen.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
