June 15, 2016 - Mexico (Need All The Advice I Can Get)

Hey guys, I am a newbie that's for sure!!!! lol I originally was going to get married at the Grand Palladium Jamaica Lady Hamilton but some of my guests thought that the $1887 deal for 5 nights was too expensive so now I am looking at places in Mexico to get married. I would really love some advice on where to book!

My group for the wedding is only 16 total (with my fiance and me) and we are have a pretty tight budget. I am not having bridesmaids and anyone standing beside us at the ceremony. I would love a beach wedding with a cute pergola with some Tiffany Blue decorations (we can bring decorations I am pretty DIY savy) so any suggestions on that to save money would be greatly appreciated. My guests are looking to stay around $1500-$1700 for 4 or 5 days. I would like to spend less than $4500 total (including photographer) which I think I've found! I'm liking PlayaWeddings ( http://playaweddings.com/WP/blog/ )( http://playaweddings.com/WP/playaweddings-photography-pricing-2014-15/ ) and her pricing for the quality is the best I've found. I honestly don't know if I will need more than 3 hours, but I am hoping that I don't. My friends are doing my hair and makeup and my dress is going to be as simple as I can get. I was just going to wear white lace pants but they told me "No" lol! Shouldn't take me long to get ready (I don't wear makeup on a daily basis) shouldn't be too fancy! She can do 3.5 hours of photography for $1,400. I am a little worried about vendor fees though. I really don't want to be in Cancun but maybe somewhere not far from there. I am wanting something a little less crowded.

I would also like some input on the weather in Mexico. I am wanting to get married on June 15, 2016 around 4PM and I am nervous about it being too hot. I really don't need a fancy reception but I would like to cut a cake and maybe have cocktails... So maybe I can do some quick pictures maybe a short "trash the dress" before the sun goes down the same day as my wedding.

I would love any and all feedback!!!!!

Thanks in advance!

Pictures of "my vision", these pictures make up what would be my perfect wedding!

I am also all for something in the background! Ex: mountains, rocks, trees... anything pretty!!!! ;P

My friends and sisters have all agreed to wear the same color, that way if I cant get as much blue decor as I hope for, I will still get blue because of their dresses! :)

I am also not wanting to wear shoes and I think something like this would be beautiful!

Let me know some suggestions or tell me where you got married and what your budget was!

Once again, thank you in advance!

PS - I'm not sure if I will get a notification on here if anyone replies but I will check back frequently!

@@4thelongHALL Congrats on your engagement and upcoming wedding!

Where are you travelling from? US...Canada...somewhere else? I just got back from my wedding at Azul Fives just 15 min from Playa del Carmen! Our guests who flew from Toronto (flight & taxes included) for 7 days paid $1630. I'm not sure what the price would be now with the dollar being low (that is IF you are Canadian) but you would get a better rate in June than in January for sure.

Is your $4500 budget just for the wedding itself at the resort or does that include travel costs, wardrobe, gifts etc? To give you an idea about our wedding we paid just under $3000 (USD) for the wedding including the outside vendor fee for our photographer but this doesn't include the cost for photography itself or other things like my dress, gifts, decor we brought from home.

Also if you don't have one already I would get a great Travel Agent working with you. They will be your guide to finding the perfect resort for you.

P.S. the Tiffany blue will look amazing by the ocean!  :)

@@4thelongHALL welcome to the forum, you definitely want to get a TA on board. One that specialized in Destination Wedding like the owner of this page. they can guide you based on what you are looking for. there are some good deals that may work for sure

In case June has prices that you feel are high, you might consider the low season is between August until 15th Dec.  that also include hurricane season. you might want to go for Nov to 15 DEC. which has better weather.

You can find the bare feet jewelry on many site, check etsy.com

I am from Texas (U.S.) I am hoping the $4500 will cover everything. I think we have decided to get married here in the U.S. legally so we wont have to do the blood test and pay extra. So the $4500 I am hoping will pay for the flight, hotel, photographer, vendor fee... everything. I am pretty crafty so I think if I decide to do my own decor I think I can do it very cheap! The photographer I am interested in would be $1400 + flight/hotel $1600 + wedding (hopefully I can find a simple free one, but if not the Grand Oasis Tulum has one for $650). I think that leaves me about $1000.

Welcome to our forum community 4thelongHALL and Congrats on your upcoming dw!!! You've come to the right place for lots of great ideas, suggestions, advice and support from everyone here, so well done on a great start already!

Here's a link to our webpage telling you weather and sunset times for Mexico in June: Weather / sunset

On June 15, the sun sets at 7:31pm, so that gives you time after the ceremony for a newlywed photo session that would capture the GOLDen light that's so beautiful right before sunset!

It actually slots in perfectly with our suggested timeline - that you can see at this link: FAQs

Azul Fives is a very picturesque wedding venue - as you can see in these magical wedding moments that matter we captured there recently.....from our Azul Fives Wedding Story Album:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
