Hi,

 

I am looking to have a gujarati wedding in November of 2016 at Barcelo Maya or Moon Palace. Does any one have any help they could provide; ie feedback on what they liked, didn't liked, which package you chose etc? I am a type A personality but am trying to be a bit more laid back, hence a destination wedding. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

@@bluenkj Welcome to BDW. First question - do you have a travel agent that you're working with? That would be the first recommendation I would make. Since you're looking for a very specific type of wedding, a travel agent would be the best to help you with which resort could best accommodate the type of wedding you're looking for.

 

You don't say if you're in the the US or Canada, but either way the owners of this site have travel agents that would be able to provide you with information on the resorts that would be able to assist you with what you're looking for.

 

I think most of the larger resorts would be able to accommodate the religious wedding that you're looking for.

@@bluenkj Moon Palace turns to do a lot of the Hindu Wedding. I would definitely look into them more , also you might want to refer to a TA.

Thank you both! We have contacted both the hotels but wanted to get some opinions from anyone who has had their wedding. I think I am mainly concerned about food, photography, videographer etc. Does anyone else have any other resort that they were able to utilize? Thanks so much for everyone help. I was going a bit crazy trying to figure it all out.

Hi Bluenkj,

 

Moon Palace is really experienced at Indian weddings. When I was there in January 2015, I saw at least 3 Indian weddings taking place each day during my 7 night stay. 

 

It was this Indian wedding I filmed. Here is the link to show you there beautiful beach set-up: 

The wedding planners were: Blue Petal Destination weddings. They specialize in Hindu weddings and are a Canadian based company. Having a travel agent will be helpful especially when trying to get group discounts for your guests.

Barcelo and Moon Palace are noth great options as they specialize in these wedding types
Ocean Photo Studio works with Barcelo and do amazing work - they ar ethe only one you can use at Barcelo without paying a fee.  I have read on here that there are less expensive options even with the Barcelo fee but their prices are fairly reasonable and allow you to tailor the package just as you like.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
