@@beachbeth I am doing the wedding ceremony on the beach at 4pm which will be immediately followed by the champagne toast and the cocktail hour on the beach in the same spot where the ceremony took place. We'll then move inside for the reception starting at 6:30.  I was thinking exactly what @@DLS2016 just said though that the groom and I will probably miss most of it from the picture taking but at least the guests will be occupied?

There are non-motorized activities like sailing (4ppl per boat) that can be reserved. One day they had bull riding on the beach .

We did a private catamaran cruise through paradise sailing. I think it was $900 for up to 12 people for 4 hours. There was snorkeling and swimming and we saw a sea turtle!! I actually touched it! Amazing!!!!

Another option is to get some taxis and go to DT playa Del Carmen! There is a lot to see there. Re: people preforming Mayan Dances and it's very safe. Police presence and security is everywhere.

@@DLS2016 How was your wedding!?

@@beachbeth I highly recommend going to playa del Carmen with your party!! I love it there. There is great food, lots of shopping and a cute lounge area layout with chairs and tables by Starbucks. We also saw a wedding party going to xcaret for the day prior to their wedding. They also have a GREAT beach area and restaurants/bar. If you like shrimp ceviche and cold beer you will absolutely love it!

How was everyone's experience with pictures?!

@@lcole1 I'm sorry I just saw your post! Yes everything went smoothly for us!

We didn't meet with a wedding planner because we didn't do a wedding package we did a private dinner on the beach so we didn't get the standard wedding "items".

The The photographer and videographer were FANTASTIC!! Their names were Camelo and Mannuel (spelling probably is off). They really worked with us and just made the photo and video sessions fun! I have to say they had us do a lot of "kiss now" pictures and in the video there's a lot of it too. Kind of wish I would of asked for a couple different shots but I am very satisfied with their work.

If anyone is getting their hair done at the spa I can try to find the lady's name on something we have from their it was Cervantes (along those lines) I can be off though. She was amazing. I still get compliments on my hair. I can't speak for their makeup because I did my own.

Also when we returned from our dinner they had decorated our room for a "honeymoon" rose petals everywhere chocolate 2 shirts it was beautiful!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
