@@lcole1 I'm using the resort salon for my hair as well. I tried having an outside vendor come in but they were charging too much. More then the vendor was charging for services.

As far as the meetings we went a bit untraditional and didn't go with the resort wedding package. We are getting married in the chapel in 5th avenue and having dinner on the beach so we didn't work with a wedding coordinator. We worked with staff from the relations. We are going to meet with the photographer either the 1st or 2nd day we get there depends on the church meeting.

I am a little worried about traveling with my dress but I'm looking into the box idea @@DLS2016 gave. I found a local cleaner that is affiliated with them. I've also called the airlines and tried to get more info. We probably will end up going to the airport earlier too.

Ladies!! I feel like I stumbled onto a gold mine! A found a company in Playa that sells custom painted maracas!! Check them out on Facebook just search for inplayarm! They are cheaper then the vendors I have found on etsy!!

We bought our luggage yesterday via Samsonite SoLyte. The 25 inch spinner only weighs 25.3 pounds. I Them so far (as much as I can tell by rolling them out of the store and into the car). I got them on sale for $150 each.

@@beachbeth Absolutely! I'll keep you posted as I get to make more plans. I think I've done everything I can until the 3 month mark which is when Iberostar's wedding coordinator said we'd be in more frequent contact.

You'll be fine with 40 people for the private reception. The reception costs $990 USD to rent out an entire restaurant for 4 hours. Not too bad as it'll still be far cheaper than a wedding where I live! The DJ is $636 USD (with taxes included) for the entire 4 hours and the dance floor will just be the restaurant floor (which I think is perfectly fine! You can upgrade to adding a fancy dance floor but that just seemed like too much extra money).  I know it was confusing to sort out the cost of everything for me so I figured I'd share! Hope that helps!!

That helps a lot!

Yeah I wondered about the floor - I thought maybe we weren't allowed to dance right on the restaurant floor, but yeah I totally don't need a floor on top of a floor.

I JUST bought my wedding dress like 20 mins ago so I'm thinking I need to bust a move on the rest of the plans now!!

@@DLS2016 hi! Thank you!!

The wedding was perfect! I was a little hesitant getting my hair done at the resort spa however they did a wonderful job. I was very happy with it. I'll have to find the name of my stylist. Photo pro was also fabulous. The service they provided exceeded my expectations. We have Milo and . They really went above and beyond. We didn't have any of their traditional wedding packages instead we opted for dinner on the beach. We had our own server and the food was very good and kept coming and coming. I'm very satisfied with how our wedding turned out. I would highly recommend bringing mosquito repellent, there was tons of them. Any other questions please ask I know I had a ton of them!

@@lcole1

Photopro was great! I was extremely satisfied with their service and quality of work.

I also had my hair done at the spa and they did a great job. My stylist exceeded my expectations.

You'll really enjoy the service they provide. Above and beyond what they had to do.

And I carried my dress on the plane. The closet was very small but luckily my dress didn't wrinkle much. I hung it up at the resort and by my wedding it looked like I just had it steamed.

@@Harper370 I'm so happy your wedding went so well!!! I am glad to hear that the spa stylist and PhotoPro were both wonderful! YAY!!! (Makes me feel better!!!) One question- how did it go meeting with the wedding planner and the PhotoPro people before the wedding? Was it easy to set up the meetings?

Thanks for the mosquito tip! I was thinking of buying some sort of bug repellent wipes to give to guests for the ceremony especially since the world is worried about Zika!

I'm also so happy the plane let you use the closet! It sounds like everything went perfect!!  If I think of any questions I'll be sure to ask you!!

@@beachbeth we had ours after the dinner. It was more like a reception than anything. They provide Champagne to you and your guests directly after the cormoney. We didn't get to drink any though because we were on the beach taking pictures, but I hear it was very good and lasted the 45 minutes until dinner!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
