That's so exciting! Thank you for your reply, can't wait to see your pictures! I figured it was pretty minimal, was hoping I could save some money but I don't see that happening does anyone know if you can skip the private rehearsal and reserve a restaurant there? Because if so that would save me around $4000 I could put into decor

When I inquired about the rehearsal, for the Italian and Asian restaurant if you want the dinner you just have to purchase 3 bottles of wine but you group can only be like 20. I never heard anything about a $4000 charge for that.  From the weddings I have seen there via Instagram, we are gonna have some custom flowers are decorations for it'll look really plain and bare.

The 4000 was because it was a private rehearsal at $40 per person and I have about 100 invited...I agree it will look bare without anything, I'm hoping I can bring my own centerpieces for the tables and such because all of the vendors are sooo expensive! I figure between the dj and photographer we will spend $5000...speaking of which does anyone have recommendations for either of them?

Hello everyone!  I am so glad i found this thread!  My fiancé and I are getting married at hyatt ziva in october and can't wait.  We've stayed at hyatt zilara several times and wanted to have our wedding there, but because it was adults only we couldn't choose that location.  We were literally seconds away from signing a contract at the hard rock, we actually went to cancun and did site visits to a few places including hard rock.  My fiancé checked the mail and in the mail was a brochure for the new hyatt ziva hotel.  It was pretty crazy. So we changed the venue and couldn't be happier so far.  I think the costs are a little more than i expected, because what comes with the package is pretty basic even though it's like 3499 or something like that.  With all the decorations and DJ it's an additional almost 5k.  We're having our ceremony at the cliff gazebo and happy hour/reception on the sky terrace.  I haven't seen a ton of pics but what i have seen have all been on instagram or what you ladies have posted.  I was fortunate to private message with someone on instagram and get some questions answered.  We haven't finalized all of our decorations yet, but |Abimael is great to work with.  The staff from the hotel I'm not sure what they are, they're not actually wedding coordinators but a contact for the weddings(contract etc) are not very good!  they're slow and didn't answer our questions when we emailed them.  They would answer 1 or 2 out of 10 questions.  ha so that was fun.  We finally were able to get her to agree to a phone call and that cleared everything up.   We're expecting around 40-50 guests.  We hired an outside photographer (Del Sol) they're a little pricey but pictures are one of the most important things for us because that's what we'll bring back with us and have forever.  If you want a great photographer and are willing to spend money check them out. http://delsolphotography.com   Sorry for the long post but it's nice to find other people who are going through the same struggles we are.  But i know it's going to be amazing!  I can't wait to see other pictures from your wedding Guz16!

@@MichelleandAdam  Congrats!! I would love to see your DelSol Photo's from the Ziva.  My fiance wants them for our wedding but they are so expensive! I have yet to see any pro photography from a wedding there and am curious what locations they would use for photos! Happy Planning!

hi brides! I was wondering if you ladies were planning on using the makeup/hair services that are included in the vendor list or going elsewhere? I found one company that seems to be amazing based on pictures and reviews but the idea of the $500 outside vendor fee is making me go back and forth! thanks in advance!

Hi Brides,

So excited to have found this thread. We're planning on doing our wedding here June 2017 and are going for a site visit at the end of this month (will post pictures!). I've been working with a TA at modern destination wedding (https://moderndestinationweddings.com/) and have had a really positive experience so far. They make the process a lot easier and will price match rates that you might find on Orbitz/Expedia/etc... As another bride mentioned, their packages include round-trip transfers to and from the airport which i personally find convenient. I also found that my travel agent is able to get me answers from the on-site wedding coordinator pretty quickly.

The $500 outside vendor fee is a bit steep, have any other brides had experience with negotiating this rate? Seems insane to pay so much to bring in your own photographer/videographer/etc..

Happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
