@@MesaMiso We're November 3, so we will see you there! I have been assigned yet another wedding coordinator, who also doesn't return emails. I've decided to let it go until my deposits are done on March 3, so I have a definite number. Seriously frustrating. My problem is we originally signed up for the semi-private reception at a restaurant and decided we want to have a private one. We haven't been able to get solid answers on price, venue, how the menu works, or anything. We are trying to be patient, and even considered just losing our deposit & moving on, but it seems like most resorts get more responsive closed to the date. Hoping this is the case, because it really looks like a great resort.

@@MesaMiso - For Hyatt Ziva Cancun if you pick the Lavish and Opulent package the extra per person cost is $85 USD for each guest above 20.  This covers everything in the package for each additional guest.  The $85 USD cost is the current price for 2017 but this is always subject to change.

The Bonus Events Promotion is being offered currently but you should have this information from your travel agent.  It is based on the number of rooms in your group block so your travel agent will have to confirm this to the resort in order to qualify.  The promotion is only valid on group contracts of 10 rooms or more, with 3 nights each or more, individual reservations do not qualify.

If you have any more questions you can contact us through this form here as I am one of the TA/Wedding Planner for BDW, and I also attended Hyatt Ziva Cancun's Grand Opening just last year.

@@rebeccarpeck1 Most resorts will only start working on your wedding plans about 3-7 months prior to your wedding date.  I think you have a good idea on waiting until you have your guest count in as that will make everything a lot easier for you and your planning.  If you do decide on private reception (which will be amazing for sure) have that updated in your contract as soon as you make your decision.

hi! Does this mean $581 PP for 3 nights total? What time of year are you having your wedding? Our quote is much more expensive.

Ours is sooo high too for January 2018, was trying to look for someone who got married on January to see what they ended up paying for flights and hotel. The problem is they got rid of charter air in winter months which makes flights expensive. Are you using a travel agent!?

  • 3 months later...

Hi all, I just signed the contract to get married October 2018. My coordinator is Elizabeth and I seem to be having the same communication issues as everyone has mentioned. It's quite frustrating not getting responses back quickly, so I'm hoping that things get a little better since I just signed the contract. Following this thread..

Yesterday marked 5 months out. I had been having good luck with Vianey, however my TA emailed me and said Hyatt contacted her and asked me to wait for them to contact me closer to my wedding, as there was new management. Again. Vianey is my 7th coordinator. I sent Vianey a kind email thanking her for all of her help, because she is truly the first to help me there, and was super efficient. She responded back with a sweet note and said my TA requested that I still work with her, so I'm happy about that. Until then, just more waiting. Just have to stay positive and know in the end, I'm marrying my dude in paradise and everything will work out just fine. We did find our photographer and are in love with her work. Ashley from Paradise Photo Studio has been great to deal with. Also found a lady who rents decor and sells favors/welcome bag items that will meet you outside of the resort to deliver and pick up items. Her husband also runs private charters. So, aside from the ceremony and reception, I'm all set! ????????

rebeccarpeck1 do you mind me asking who you are using for decor and the welcome bags?? I've been trying to figure out what to do about that!

Our wedding is a few weeks after yours and I honestly haven't spoken to anyone in about 5 months because I figured they didn't want to hear from me this far out but now I'm worried I won't even know who to contact since the last people I spoke to were Christina Park and Melissa Zamora!

@@jmartins1223 It's frustrating, but I'm making myself stay positive! Do you have a TA? Mine has been amazing and has good luck in receiving communication from them. I got my welcome bags from Wedding Chicks during a %50 off sale. To put in them, I have room key holders, tumblers, hangover kits, mini tequila bottles, mini vanilla, and some local snacks. I am getting the tequila, vanilla, and snacks from Love and Lace Wedding Decor (check out their Facebook page...also Cancun Brides is a good private group too!) They also have tons of things to rent. I am keeping it pretty simple and bringing table overlays, napkins, and my own centerpieces. Actually using the roses from the included bouquet in my centerpieces, going to bring some filler with me. Also getting maracas as favors from Love and Lace $1.50 and I don't have to bring them with me!! We have a small group (18) so not doing the dj thing, just a Bose speaker and playlists.

@@rebeccarpeck1 I can't believe its only 5 months away too! I actually did the big day preview a couple of weeks ago and the hotel is just paradise! I met with Vianey and shes super sweet. It was such a reality check seeing how hard these wedding coordinators work. We met with Vianey at 10am, had a break at about 1PM then met up with her again at 3PM for our food tasting. At 5PM she had a wedding to coordinate the same day! Made me realize not to be so worked up if I don't get an email back right away as she really is working super hard to make each wedding a dream come true! We also met up with a couple of vendors. Grupo Gama quoted us $6252.40 for flowers and decor. We are still waiting for a quote from Dezibel. We booked encore for our DJ and lighting. I would love to do maracas too! Maybe Ill look into Love and Lace. @@rebeccarpeck1 sounds like you are all set! Sounds like having a TA is super helpful! I'm starting to wish I booked one :/ I still need to book a photographer/videographer! Who did you book?

Sounds like you had a productive preview visit! Wow, that just makes the fact that Vianey has been so responsive that much more amazing. I was just worried about switching to a private dinner and securing the location. I think that's good, so just waiting until closer to finalize the other stuff with her. We chose Paradise Photo Studio for photography. We fell in love with their work.

http://www.paradisephotostudio.com We have a friend who does video editing, so we are going to give him go pro footage and pictures so he can make a highlight video, FH actually suggested this, as I was good with no video! Haha You can see most of the favors and decor on Love & Lace's Facebook page. I might bring some paint pens to customize the maracas, still a fraction of what I was going to pay through Etsy, and I wouldn't mind crafting for a bit poolside.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
