Did everyone use a travel agent to block rooms or did anyone have their guests book through Expedia/through a travel agent on their own? Or possibly even another option? Thanks in advance for the input! We are having trouble figuring out what we should do!

@@HannahShort If you use a travel agent or any sort of group contract, you will get a free room night for every 10 room nights booked. I think that's the case since you have a November date listed. Mine's in June so it's a night for every 5 rooms booked. But it's a pain to get everyone to book through the TA and guests are always thinking they've found better deals online somewhere (which they usually really aren't once all the fees are applied). But I think having all of the group booked through one person will be good for the comp nights and also help minimize headaches with head counts and planning since everyone will be in the same group.

@@cantuido My wedding is similar in size and the biggest cost is definitely going to be the cost per head for guests over the first 20. The biggest package they offer is for 20 people, then it's $85 per head after that. That is definitely going to be the biggest chunk of my budget that I was surprised by. Just wanted to give you a head's up so you can plan accordingly! :)

Has anyone worked with beachbumvacation and the Hyatt Ziva? We are looking into getting married in January of 2018. We were originally speaking with the hotel directly, but they actually suggested we speak to a Travel Agent because it would be cheaper. Thought that was weird, but we started speaking with beachbum. Group rates seem to be nonexistent in general regardless of who we go with it seems like.

Hey Everyone!  We just got our slide show pics back from Del Sol.  They're seriously amazing and so worth it if you want to splurge on pictures.  I know when we were looking at the resort we were searching every where to see pics, so here's our slide show.  Click on view more pictures to see them all!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
