@@HannahShort Hi Hannah, We worked with a travel agent. I wouldn't recommend mine since I felt she wasn't organized at all. It was more work for us. She worked w/ funjet. I would contact them directly. They can work out a group package for you. We reserved 15 rooms and received a discount for every 5th room we received a free room. A travel agent makes it easier for you and your guest to book and work out an easy payment plan for you and your guest. They also help with roundtrip transportation. TA's are supposed to get you the lowest rates possible especially if you have a block of rooms reserved.

@@HannahShort we worked with an amazing travel agent! I highly recommend her. She got us the best rates and was always available via email or phone call. Her name is Natasha Persha. She's on maternity leave right now until December, so if you can wait till then to work with her I would do it. Here's her info. Thy also have other agents there that have helped us and they're all great!

@@JRodz Did you reserve a block of rooms for your guests to book? If so, did they offer a discount for bringing so many guests to stay with them and how did everyone go about booking (through the hotel website? calling the hotel? expedia?? travel agent?)

I really appreciate your responses!

Yay another Hyatt bride! I'm getting married there in April. Soon much to do. Do you have photos? I won't get to do a site visit. I have a few that an agent posted on FB. I am doing all of my events at the sky gazebo. Did it seem like enough space? I'll have about 50 people. I have kids coming and my WP said that Punta Vista is adults only. Did they tell you that? My WP is Elsa but I want to request a new one. She takes too long to get back with me. Who's yours?

I had started a page of info looking for people a while back. But this a better place for sharing I guess.

Did you have your wedding at Hyatt Ziva?! Congrats!!! I am getting married there and was wondering what you thought, if you had any advice, and any pictures. Booking site unknown is scary!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi ladies, i got an email from Maguie Fuentes saying that I'd now be handled by Christina Parker & Melissa Zamora, so I guess changes are happening...hopefully for the best.

When you ladies went down for your big day preview did you make appointments on your own prior or let the coordinator do it for you?

I'm heading down in 2 weeks and I'm nervous that with all the changes they will forget to do it so I'm contemplating reaching out to some vendors directly myself :-/

@@jmartins1223 @@rebeccarpeck1 They switched us to Christina a while back when we complained about the response times of the girl we were with before. She's been really good so far. Still slow sometimes, but always polite and methodical with her answers. We didn't do the Big Day Preview because we stayed at a different resort when we did our site visit. So we didn't get to taste food or cake! If you and your fiancee do, please give us thorough reviews! :)

@@rkilmer0319 That's great to hear! I can handle a little slow, as long as accuracy & consistency are there! Unfortunately, my fiance is waiting for a surgery to be scheduled, so we won't be making it down for a preview. So I will continue to stalk this site & other reviews to help with decision making!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
