@@wuzy @@KellyFitzgerald - Congratulations on your destination wedding at Hyatt Ziva Cancun!!  I would strongly recommend you both work with a TA as we seem to get answers a lot quicker back for our clients.  Also when looking at group pricing we look at all options available and quote you the best price with all details explained.  There is a lot of work involved when planning a destination wedding so why not work with a professional as there is no extra cost to you for our services.  You can email me directly at preety@travelbyplatinum with any specific questions or contact us through this form here as I am one of the TA's for BDW and and I was at the Hyatt Ziva Grand Opening in January of this year so know this resort very well and their weddings department too.

@@KellyFitzgerald Hi Kelly I feel your pain! I had the same issues the only difference I see is when you have the room/group rates you get the roundtrip transportation when working w/ a TA. They also guarantee the discounts at that time. So we got the 50 % off and 5th night free. Maybe it was my TA but it's been a hassle and the turn around time for room changes has been a nightmare!! You would think since you're paying so much for a wedding there, they would be more accommodating. NOPE! I have seen other hotels give more "perks" when booking a wedding. I'm guessing bc the hotel is under new management the perks are not as generous as other hotels.

@@Gerri430 Hi Gerri I have heard it's easier working w/ TA and have heard great stories but unfortunately I haven't had the best of luck. TA's are supposed to take that task off your hands and work directly w/ your guest. Look for the best possible prices and suggest and find best options. It's been a little challenging for us but I wish you good luck finding the perfect match!

While not as safe an option as going with a TA or booking directly with the hotel, we actually decided to refer our guests to travel websites like Orbitz and Bookit.com. The promos do not apply our wedding week (Thanksgiving) and it ended up being much cheaper that way when bundled with flights.

Hey guys!  :) I'm considering the Hyatt Ziva for our May 2017 wedding. We were originally set of the Gran Porto in Playa del Carmen but I'm just not in love with their beach and since I want both the ceremony and reception on the beach I just can't compromise lol! I wish I could pick up the Hyatt Ziva and move it to Playa del Carmen (I've traveled to Cancun tons of times) I'm definitely have trouble with the WC there. I'm working with Jazmin at the moment. She emailed me some general info for the Gran Porto two weeks ago and I've emailed back 4 times with questions with no reply! So frustrating! I tried to call to get more information about the Hyatt Ziva since I was not hearing back but they would not let me work with a new coordinator....so I have to wait. I think my fiance and I are just ready to start putting deposits on everything once I hear back from her...

We're expecting the wedding to be very small, about 20 ppl. At first I thought it was a no brainer to go for the Lavish package but now that I'm crunching numbers I'm considering the complimentary package for the ceremony and just paying for the reception and other add ons a la carte.  I just don't feel like I'll make use of the spa treatments, makeup, cocktail reception etc. Is anyone else doing it this way? I'm picky when it comes to decor/photography so I know I'll probably want to put the extra money towards that  :D

Hey, @@sashloz

Im kind of in the same stage because im trying to see which package will work better for me. I thought the complimentary one would come out cheaper but ill be having around 30 people or more and i also want to add a private reception so when you do the additional charges it comes out to be almost the same so might as well have more perks. However, for you the complimentary one might work better. I am still looking at other resorts to compare packages but I like hyatt a lot. It looks like we will be having our wedding around the same time.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
