Hello,

Congrats to all the brides! Im starting to look at different resorts for a wedding possibly in May or June2017. Has anyone done the a la carte option and then added things as they went ? Is that better than the package?

@@Amandab1378 I was thinking the same regarding the white curtains. It's hard without the visuals! My wedding consultant told me she'll be at a wedding on Sunday and will be able to provide some pictures for inspiration. I'll share once I see them.

As for our schedule, our ceremony is from 5-5:30pm, 30 mins for group pics. Cocktail hour from 6-7pm and then reception following right after.

@@JRodz That is pretty much the same schedule we are going with as well. I had inquired about a cocktail hour for 6pm (our ceremony is at 5pm), but there was an additional charge of $400 for that. Figured that money would be better suited to go towards lighting, flowers, etc.

Did your wedding coordinator ever share those gazebo photos with you?

HI Ladies-

I'm heading down there first week of May and to meet with Jessica as well. There were a few pictures on Instagram of a wedding last weekend that looked really nice i.e. flowers, table decor. I will try to bring back more info if I can.

Does anyone know who I should contact regarding the wedding at ziva cancun, I called them and Margarita sent me this form to fill out to secure a date but I have questions about their packages and doing the a la carte option before I secure my date. She has not replied for 2 weeks now. It doesn't seem like they want the businesses. Can anyone give me insight on how to get started with this process? Maybe I should just go with a different resort if they have communication problems right from the start.

I also search on Instagram for different pics of weddings there! About a week or so ago I actually messaged a bride on Instagram who had her wedding there to ask her her thoughts and opinions. She made me so happy she said it was an absolute dream come true, she said she was nervous about if it would meet her expectations and said she was blown away. She said they did take a while to email back at times but that when she got there they were so detail oriented and on top of everything she wanted and asked for.

I went to the Hyatt Ziva Cancun and it is absolutely STUNNING. I can put some pictures of some of the venue sites that I took if anybody is interested? We booked for next July and are SOO excited!

Hello everyone! I'm having my wedding at Hyatt Ziva Cancun on February 11, 2016, but I have to say it's been a real struggle so far dealing with the wedding coordinator and the reservations department trying to obtain affordable room rates for me guests. I've been jerked around multiple times, having talked to 4 or 5 different people about group room rates over the last two months and they have only tried to give me the same rates that are on the website. This is insulting since the wedding coordinator said the rates would be discounted since we're paying to have our wedding there. Is anyone else trying to book a group rate for their guests? Is anyone else having these issues? I'm very frustrated. Thank you in advance.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
