Hello fellow brides!

Getting excited to finally start planning our destination wedding! I have my travel agent/destination wedding planner already. Im just having a really hard time trying to choose a resort! We would like a smaller 5* resort with great food. Ive narrowed down things to Beach Palace, Azul Fives and Now Jade. Can any of you ladies provide some insight and recommendations to help me choose a resort! Also im open to hear recommendations for other resorts as well.

Thanks so much

Hi Deanna,

Welcome to BDW!

Beach Palace, Azul Fives, and NOW Jade are all great resorts but very different from each other. We are a top agency with all those resorts.

They offer different pros and cons.

We usually work with the bride and groom to go over what their needs are, price point, etc. to see what resort would work best for them.

@@Deannak,  the 3 resorts are good all inclusive resorts.  my favorite has to be https://dreamweddingsrivieramayablogdotcom.wordpress.com/2015/11/14/mahsa-and-kiarash-beach-palace-cancun-resort-cancun-destination-wedding/

Hi @@Deannak

Welcome to the forum!

I just recently had my wedding at Beach Palace and it was fantastic. If you are looking for a smaller resort, it's perfect. It's more of a hotel style high rise, but the property itself is not large at all which made it perfect for our 'intimate' wedding week. We wanted to be able to run into people, have an easy time meeting up etc. It was great.

I posted all about it in my planning thread (link below) if you want to have a look! The last 10 pages have my review, pictures etc

@ was the resort too small, my fiancé thinks it looks that way, even though he really wants a smaller resort....was it overcrowded at all?

@@Deannak We never felt like it's too small. It never felt overcrowded either.

We have stayed at large resorts and it wasn't our thing so that's what led us to a resort like beach palace.

@

Yes we dislike large resorts as well , but having only one pool was his concern . It's my decision in the end lol . Did you look at azul fives at all , or knew right away you wanted beach palace . How was the food overall, not just the wedding . Sorry for all the questions !

If you decide to have something more private and still luxurious as Beach Villa...check out Hacienda Paraiso in Tulum. It's amazing! Molecular gastronomy catering chef.

Hi, I am getting married at Moon Palace next week- YAY! I have been very impressed with the resort so far and I wanted to share a few thoughts/recommendations: 1) do the preview of paradise! We gained so much info and you get the $$ back for your stay before your wedding- WELL worth it! 2) Don't be afraid to shop for outside vendors. Even with the vendor fee, we found a photographer that is giving us more time, more shots and better service plus a special video project- all for less than the on-site! Through this forum actually, I found Octavio Montes Photography. After checking out his beautiful portfolio on his website and contacting him- I was sold. He is SO nice and friendly. Responds to emails same-day and worked with me on setting up exactly every detail needed. If you are thinking at all about an outside photographer, take a look at his website, you won't be disappointed! The photos are SO important and it wasn't something I was willing to use just anyone for. I'll post some pics after my wedding!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
