Quick Little Update/Mini Rant:

So-- I'm really starting to feel like things are coming together. Our quote expires tomorrow and our wedding planner is just getting together an 8 & 10 day quote for John and I so for a little "mini-moon". We've spoken to most of our family and mentioned our plans and they all seem super excited even with the trip costing so much (approx. $2300 from Vancouver, LOVE YOU ALL!)-- minus my MOH/older sister (married 2 years ago, just bought a new house, with a baby on the way). I can only imagine that she must be stressed as well but she's expressed that she might not be able to come down for the 7 days, worried about her vacation time/mat leave, asking if we can get married on the Sunday or later in the week instead, thinks that guests won't want to stay for the full 7 days (...because she can't) and etc...

I'm honestly not worrying about this at all, and approaching this with the "it is what it is" attitude. I'm sure she will make it down either way even if it's a shortened trip... But at the end of the day, you can't please everyone! So we're just going to move forward with our original plans and what John and I had planned for everyone in the first place. As disappointing as it is to be getting so much push back from my sister. Our wedding is our special day and something that we're putting 1000000% of our efforts into making the best week for all of our guests.

Remember ladies-- this is YOUR day. :) #dontstress #cantpleaseeveryone lol

Oh I'm so sorry you're already experiencing this so early in your planning. I admire your positive attitude. We've all been there and unfortunately you can't please everyone. But that's the thing ppl don't get, you don't have to please them, it's your wedding day, not theirs. I get where your sister is coming from with all the new expenses in her life but you guys are giving ample notice for ppl to save! Hope it all works out for you :)

Sorry you are already going thru the trials and tribulations of destination wedding planning!

Shawn's dad dug his heals in HARD and we stood our ground.  Good for you to do that as well, as hard as it much be with it being your sister.      You will find that people will ask you to change your plans, so you do, then they back out.  Went thru a lot of that before we set the date.   You can only do so much, so keep your head up!

Image heavy Update!

So I've started creating mood boards to outline the look/feel that I'm going for-- just thought I'd share them below

Colour scheme: pink/nudes/blush tones with navy accent

I don't plan on using the navy as heavily as it is here in the image, but just as a slight accent for contrast

I'll continue to update as I go along on how I'm actually going to make this stuff happen :) haha, but for now-- this is what I am working and aiming towards. It's more of a rustic/garden type feel. Hopefully all the decor will work cohesively together!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
