Where Do We Get Married !

Recommended Posts

We are getting married in November 2016 in Mexico and I have looked at sooo many different resorts I am mind boggled between looking at reviews on trip advisor and finding something for our special day I have never been to Mexico before so this is becoming very difficult

Any insight on beautiful wedding destinations?? Or your experiences

kid friendly we have a 1 and 3 year old and also have older children attending

Swim up bars

Disco bar for dancing

Lots of options for dining

Beach wedding

We would also like to do some excursions swim with the Dolphins ect.

Thought a destination wedding was supost to be stress free uhhhh just want to find a place already !

Welcome and congrats!

Picking the resort is the toughest part. I think it stresses everyone out.

I got married at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya. It has everything on your list including the dolphins :)

Lots of packages for the wedding and some beautiful spots. The palapa was gorgeous (see my pics and such below).

It's considered a 5* but I'll say it's a solid 4.5* in comparison to hotels by Karisma and such.

I suggest getting a really good TA. She can help you narrow down your resorts by your must have list. Then you can compare to their wedding packages to see if they have ones in your budget and what you envision for your day. She can also recommend some resorts that you may not have considered that are in your price point and have good reviews among other things.

Are you from Canada or the US?

Good luck!

@@Sam1214  Congrats and welcome! @@calgarybride2015 has given you perfect advice! Her wedding was gorgeous - you should definitely take a look at her pics. There are several other brides-to-be here that are using the same resort. She's also absolutely right about choosing the resort being the hardest. i looked at resorts until my brain hurt, then just when i thought we were done and ready to go, a few things went wrong and I ended up back on the hunt again. But our situation is unusual so don't let it worry you. The Karisma properties are beautiful too, as are the Dreams. It will completely depend on what you want and don't want and the price point you want for your guests, your overall budget, how many guests will be attending. The good thing is that November is still low season so your price point should be a bit lower. Just bear in mind that hurricane season runs until November 30th. Some people just don't want to take the risk. Others don't worry about it at all. Another reason why a good travel agent will become your new BFF as you go through your planning journey.

Good luck and happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
