@@KBrown I was really happy with my make up. I upgraded to airbrush and it was totally worth it. It was pretty hot during the day. I also ended up in the pool (most of the bridal party did) and my make up did not run at all...kinda crazy! haha

@@snswedding2016 did you get a DJ for the reception? How did you find him if so?

Hello ladies! I'm so happy to have found this site! We're getting married at AF this summer of July 2016! I couldnt be more excited and nervous as it gets closer! I have something I'm debating on and would love to get some input from you guys. So I got the Memorable Moments pure glamour package & I'm debating on whether I should go down to the Always & Forever since I'm only going to have about 10 guests. I'm stuck in between saving my arm and leg & just adding things to the always & forever or just keeping it. It doesn't look like we'll be having a private event since you need at least 16 ppl so I'm wondering whether I should pay for the MM package. Help! Any tips or suggestions?

Hi @@Rubyy xx first off congrats!

I feel like if u don't mind spending that much for only 10 guests then that's fine for you but personally I wouldn't be splashing out on that much when you can save so much more money and u can have your own input and ideas on your decor xx

@@sassylouxx thanks I appreciate you! That's what I was thinking. Especially since I'm not having a private dinner due to the amount of ppl going so the reception has to have the restaurant decor.

@@Rubyy I would go with the basic Always and Forever package and just add on from there. You can always add on the elements of the pure glamour package that you love separately without having to have everything that the package includes. You could also pick and choose from different packages (ex. chandelier from pure glamour and chair covers from vintage elegance). It allows you to have more flexibility and will definitely be cheaper for you especially if you're only using it for the ceremony.

Happy planning!! :)

@@sassylouxx thank you! Have you looked into a photographer? I chose one that the resort provides, hope they do great!

@@snswedding2016 Thank you so much for your response!! You all have definitely been a great help to me! Is there spray tanning at the spa? I already set up my appt for hair and makeup there at the spa. I hope my face doesn't melt off, I heard it was very hot & humid there.

@@Rubyy I agree 100% with @@snswedding2016! That's actually what we are doing. We have 50+ people and it was just too expensive to go with one of the packages so we added what we needed and are bringing most of our decor. You can literally add anything you want from one of the MM packages individually - I like that you can customize it as much as you'd like.

I don't know if there is spray tanning at the resort - it isn't on the spa package so I would assume no. I personally would be very scared to spray tan due to the amount you will be in the water, the sweating, etc. I plan to tan in beds before we go so I have a nice glow for our wedding.

    • Hey guys. New to the forum. I have a question. Need some advice. I booked my wedding through destinationweddings.. booked grand Bahia principe san juan in Puerto plata. Deposited and all that .. hired a photographer who is also a friend who is coming with my group along with his wife as guests.  I tell the resort because I wanted to clarify I dont really need the photographer that is included in my package I'm paying for.. They are now charging me 500 dollars for my photogrphaer / friend to take pictures on my wedding day even though him and his wife are both guests of the hotel for the whole 7 days. Has anyone heard of this before? Any advice how to get out of it I have fought with the resort wedding planner and the travel planner but i havent got anywhere so far.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm already spending 1500$ in extras, 1700 on package and bringing 24 guests for 7 days and me and hubby staying 10 days. I feel like they should not be charging me for this
    • Good afternoon, I wanted to inquire if anyone has or knows someone who got married at this resort. How was it? How are the coordinators? Packages that were chosen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks.
    • Hi all! I know this is an old thread... but just in case there are other destination wedding brides out there with the same question, I thought I would answer! My guy and I live in Texas and just got our marriage license (yay!). We are getting married in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The Dallas County clerk informed us that we can get our marriage license in Texas, bring it and a Texas-registered officiant to Mexico, have the ceremony in Mexico, then bring the marriage license back to Texas to file and it will be LEGAL in the US.  In  other words, we can legally get married in Mexico using our Texas marriage license and officiant (who is a family friend), then file the paperwork when we get home. Where it says 'county in which ceremony was performed' on the license, we just put in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and bam! Married :) I do not know if this is true for other states, but it is CONFIRMED for Texas! I suggest asking the clerk when you register for your marriage license. I am overjoyed that we can have a US-legal marriage in Mexico so our wedding date on our license will be the actual day! NO blood tests, or getting married before or after the trip required!
    • Every Bride spends a lot of time researching and worrying about her perfect wedding dress. While many Indian brides choose the traditional red colour for their bridal gown, a few of them find some different colours to wear on their special day. Here is a description of how to choose an Indian wedding dress that suits your skin tone. 1) Fair complexion: You can choose any shade of blue or bright shades of pink and red. In the shades of blue- select scuba blue or royal blue. Among other colours this season, you can pick up your dress in tangerine.   2) Wheatish complexion Just select those colours which bring out the warmth in your complexion. Some of the best options for you are tangy orange, saffron yellow, vibrant shades of red, mint green and hot pink.   3) Dusky complexion: If you have an olive skin tone, then you can pull off any rich and dark colour quite well. So, the colours like classic blue, marsala, burnt orange and brick red are just perfect for you. Also the metallic silver, gold and bronze will even flatter your face pretty well
