Azul Fives By Karisma Brides 2016

Recommended Posts

We got the memorable moments package and still brought our own decor. I had some string lights to put behind the gazebo and I think that's what brought our set up fee a little higher. We paid $250-300, I can't quite remember. Definitely hanging things up is what brings the cost up haha, otherwise it's not that much. They did explain to us that the money they charge is just divided up between the guys that actually do all the set up (so the hotel doesn't keep that money) and that's why they ask for cas. They did a great job so I didn't feel like it was unfair.

@@TinkerSofi Hey! They are telling me I won't need more lights on the Sky Deck, but do you think I will? Steph remembered you (I think it was you, anyways) saying something about guests using their phones to see their meals lol

I feel if lights were needed the WD would tell me that so that I would spend more money but she assured me it would be fine! Any advice?

Thank you!

@@ashhtayy it was totally fine for us. No one was using their phones to look at their meal. We didn't rent anything else. The string lights were just for decoration but they don't light up the place much. I didn't feel like it was too dark.

For the people who have already been to Azul FIves: Do you know if there is an area at the hotel where you can book excursions? If so do you rememeber what kinds of excusrions they had?

@@KBrown yes they have an office in Plaza Fives (near the lobby) where you can take a look at all the excursion options. They have the selection you would expect to find at any company that offers excursions in Mexico. You can also negotiate with them on site. We did the snorkeling with turtles, cenote and Tulum excursion - it was originally 98 US (I think) and we got them down to 88 US/pp with our group size. Some of our other guests did Coba and Chichen itza and most of our group went into Playa del Carmen one day.

Also a tip for those thinking about getting spa services. The Vassa Spa is amazing for hair and make up but also for massages (we had a couple get massages at the spa) but they are very expensive. My cousins found a couple of places down the beach (technically off Azul Fives property but just right beside) that offered much cheaper massages and they were all really impressed with the service. The massage therapist offered to do a free demo for people to see what it would be like. I think we had 10 guests who ended up going to get massages here. I'll confirm the what the price was and let you all know.

@@KBrown I was really happy with my make up. I upgraded to airbrush and it was totally worth it. It was pretty hot during the day. I also ended up in the pool (most of the bridal party did) and my make up did not run at all...kinda crazy! haha

Me and my bridesmaids with the spa ladies! They were all wonderful and all my bridesmaids were happy with their hair and make up. I had Andrea - she was great!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
