Cruisebride2016 Cruise Wedding Planning Thread

Recommended Posts

@cruisebride2016 Oh that's closer than I thought! Wow! And then your wedding next week! We debated about a cruise wedding when we said ok, dw. But so many of our group aren't cruisers so we dumped the idea. In the end we lost everyone anyway so it wouldn't have mattered! lol

You have to remember to post pictures when you get back so we can all see how it went!! Have a great flight tomorrow! Which ship are you on on Sunday and how long is the actual cruise? Your profile says Mediterranean cruise (?)

@@acw271011 Haha, I never even noticed that it said Mediterranean. We met in the Mediterrean, but the wedding cruise is in the Caribbean. It is on Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas and it is a 6 night cruise. I will make sure to post pictures after the cruise :)

Well, we are pretty much all packed and ready to go. WOW!! Can't believe it is already time to leave for our trip. My advice to future brides. Take 1-2 days off prior to leaving and try not to plan anything for those days. Leave it as time to finish anything that is still left to do. The only thing I scheduled was my nail appointment. This allowed me plenty of time to finish everything without getting stressed out. If I had my days jam packed with appointments, I would be totally stressed out right now trying to finish all the last minute stuff. My day has not been stressful at all and we will be able to go to bed early since we have an early flight tomorrow.

We are premium members with United, so we are allowed two checked bags each that are upto 70lbs each. We have 3 bags that are around 60lbs each and a 4th bag that is a duffel bag and around 20lbs. On top of that, we each have a rolling carry-on, personal item (backpack/purse) and wedding attire (dress or tux). We are flying first class, so hopefully they will not give us any trouble with everything we are bringing onboard. Our rolling bags have important wedding items, so it would be horrible if we had to check them.

Now, I am off to bed and will wake up in a few hours for our flight to Florida. Hopefully, I can contain my excitement enough to sleep!!

Yay!!!!!! Have the best week ever. I hope your wedding is everything you dreamed of and more. Your nails are gorgeous :) and I agree. I took one day off - grabbed a Starbucks, walked around Michaels for fun and just took it easy before all my family arrived!

Right now, I am sitting on the airplane about to head to Florida (where we get on the cruise). They put my wedding dress in the coat closet with no problem. Fortunately, my dress bag folds in half and can be carried over my shoulder, so it was already folded. The closet is short, so it fit perfectly with it folded in half.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
