I vote extensions! My natural lashes are really big with mascara as well, but it just doesn't show in photos the same way. Extensions look dramatic in person, but you always have to go more dramatic to notice makeup in professional photos.

@@deecol Your own lashes are beautiful but I agree with Perian. They will pop even more if you add to what you already have; maybe keep the length the same and just make them fuller?

I've been going back and forth on this too. My hair dresser does lashes as well and suggested I try them out before leaving for Mexico to make sure I like how they feel. If I remember correctly she suggested getting them done 3-4 weeks before we depart, decide if I like the feel of them, they come back for a fill before we go. Just a suggestion for you as well!

Thanks @ and @@ashhtayy!

I can definitely see that having them for photos would be worth it, I'm just worried about the other 13 days we're there and looking over the top. A trial is a good idea, maybe I can time it to have the wedding I'm in on April 2nd and then refill before we leave for Mexico.

@@deecol Oh I would definitely do that! And who cares if you look over the top post wedding? It's your wedding week and your wedding trip! From what I hear and read you'll appreciate the time it saves you in the mornings - more time to be enjohing time with your guests during your trip and you look like you put mascara on when you didn't. I say do it.

Haha don't worry about looking like a glam goddess on your wedding week, you deserve it!

They won't look over the top, I promise!

I wore sunglasses when I was beach bumming so no one even noticed them anyway.

I'd suggest bringing waterproof mascara though if you do get them. You're going to be down there an entire week before the wedding and some may fall out since they fall out naturally. Just as a precaution in case

There's a Chinese woman who did mine here in Markham. She came highly recommended from my makeup artist and she's way cheaper than salons. I've used her twice and she does a really great job. That's for anyone willing to take the trek to Markham. I paid $70 cash for mine and that was with her adding extra lashes. Usually she charges $60

OK I'm seriously jealous of your natural lashes! Im gonna play devil's advocate on this one and vote to just get strip or flash false lashes the day of your wedding. I agree that you'll want to add extra to your lashes for your wedding day, especially your photos but I always find strip lashes are less fussy and you get to play around with more styles one look. I had lash extensions for a year and I loved that my eyes looked perky and beautiful all the time but I just hated having to worry about them all the time, especially when they start coming off. If you do get them, I say go for mink so they're not as heavy on your natural lashes and should last longer.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
