Rivierabride's Planning Thread 10/27/15

Recommended Posts

No real updates to post about.  I’ve just about had it with my resort, we are now less than 4 weeks away and all I have settled is my times and locations.  Any time I send an email I get half answers back, I’m just fed up.  They told me my money is due a month in advance, but since I haven’t picked anything I still don’t know what I owe.

Everyone keeps saying, don’t worry…don’t stress.  This is how they are….easy for someone to say that’s not doing the planning!

I'd say by now you should be firming up selections so I'd be chocked and stressed if I were you too. How do you pay a bill you haven't created by making selections. Can you go above the person responding to your emails? A manager? Maybe call? Or I'd go the TA route and get them involved. Hugs.

I agree with @calgarybride2015  Reach out to your TA and see if they can help, or phone the resort and ask for a manager. I remember getting frustrated when we were dealing with Jamaica and I went out and bought a $10 international phone card and phoned the resort directly. It took about 15 minutes on the phone and I got questions answered and some things finalized. It's correct though - the WC's are so used to doing this stuff that they take it all in stride. But having said that definitely you should at least have ideas on your choices if not the choices completed. Otherwise you can't pay if you don't know what the amount is.

Good luck! We've stayed at Catalonia Royal Tulum and really liked it. It was a great resort and we were there at a time when it was only 50% occupied so no lineups or overcrowding for anything. We leave in two and a half weeks!!

The WC was out of the office and returned Monday, so I was giving her a little time to get in touch with her.  But after hearing from you guys, I just fired off an email.  I will see where I get with this and if I am not satisfied I will have to figure out what my next step is.

Fingers crossed!

@RivieraBride15  We're renewing our vows in Mexico on October 20th. We will be at the Valentin Imperial Maya for the week, renewing our vows at the Grand Coral Beach Club, then having dinner at a restaurant in Playa del Carmen. We've been through a lot since we got married 4 years ago and have had 2 wedding anniversaries in the hospital - last year and our first in 2012 - so this year is very special.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
