Congrats and welcome! October is a nice month to get married in Jamaica. I was married nearly 4 years ago (October 20, 2011) at the Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica in Runaway Bay. We loved it, and the Jamaican people. The resort was wonderful, and even though it was only the two of us, they treated us like a king and queen. We were married in the gazebo on the beach and then went off resort for photos afterwards. It rained for about 10 minutes right after our ceremony then it dried up just as quickly. It's still very warm in October - our ceremony was at 1:00 pm - but for some reason that resort and the gazebo have a wonderful breeze that comes in off the water and it's gorgeous.

There are several past and present Jamaica brides on the site so there will be no shortage of information for you to dig up.

Good luck and happy planning!

Thank you everyone for the replies. We havent decided on a resort yet. My fiance is interested in Riu Montego Bay or Ocho Rios. I would love feedback on either one or any other recommendations. Also on costs associated with the wedding, formal invitations for am affordable price, and basically everything else. Lol

Thank you again in advance

@@IzzyDeee recently got married at RIU Montego Bay. I'm not sure how much she checks in on here anymore, but here is her planning thread! She really loved it and said everything was perfect.

Cost vary pretty dramatically by resort in how they price what - especially when it comes to extras. How many guests do you think you'll have? I am happy to give you my breakdown for Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Montego Bay, but it may or may not be a good benchmark for other hotels.

We skipped formal invitations all together as a place to save money. We used paperless post for a save the date and then had a website and a facebook group for attendees.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
