@@deecol congrats, you and Col are doing awesome. 1lb is nothing!

@@cruisebride2016 5lbs? Wow, that's amazing, good job!! Keep the momentum going, especially now that you know how much you can accomplish when you're motivated.

@@calgarybride2015 Der says the same thing! LOL

My update:

So after my indulgences during the holidays, I've been so motivated and was really good at keeping with my normal workout routine (2x pilates and 2x bootcamp). I've also been keeping with meal plans and clean eating. After gaining weight during the holidays, I made my bootcamp instructor take my measurements. I'm happy to report that I actually lost .5 inches around my abs (whew) and gained .5 inches of muscles in each arm! Music to my ears.

Despite getting my measurements, I was really worried about my final dress fitting which was last Saturday. Well my worries are over because my dress fit :)

The clean eating did take a break over the weekend since I had a dinner with my bridal party and then Der and I had our joint wedding shower. Let's just say the food and booze were plentiful.

Now with 11 days until our wedding, I've gone back to clean eating and have resumed my workouts. I unfortunately ended up missing my bootcamp yesterday (had to take my poor pup to the vet) but I made it to pilates today. I still have 2 more workouts booked this week, any little bit counts! Wish me luck ladies

@@deecol Soooo close. You'll be under pre-holiday weight in no time :)

@@cruisebride2016 Say what? I need to get on that program! Congrats!

@@Wafflesmom So glad you are doing well and that the dress fit. Phew!

I'm having a bit of a rough week. I had a molar break on Sunday, dentist today to have part of the tooth removed and then a root canal tomorrow. Ugh. And I have to get a crown eventually but my insurance doesn't cover it - $1000! Crap. Anyhow... I still went snowshoeing on Sunday and hit the gym extra hard today (skipped yesterday as I also had blisters on my heels from snowshoeing sigh!). I've been only able to eat soft/liquid food, so at least my cals are down LOL.

Will hit the gym tomorrow and then not sure when I will make it back. Thursday night have a work party (out late/too much booze, so unlikely to work out in the morning). Friday night or Saturday we go to Whistler. Dinner out Saturday night. Off on Monday cause it's my birthday. Probably will sleep in. And then dinner out on Monday. Yikes! Oh well, I was able to do my belt up two extra notches yesterday :)

@@Wafflesmom well done on the loss and gain in your measurements! That's fantastic! I'm glad your dress fit! I had no doubts it would. You've been so diligent! I hope your pup is okay! Feel better soon waffles! Good luck with the last few workouts this week! You're doing great!

@@vancouverpetunia I'm sorry to hear about your dental misfortunes :( that's so unfortunate. You will be back at it in no time. At least losing weight is 80% diet and only 20% exercise! So keep eating clean! You're doing great! Have a wonderful birthday as well! Enjoy it and spoil yourself!

hahaha @@calgarybride2015 too funny!

@@vancouverpetunia I am so sorry to hear about your tooth!  You have a lot coming up that can definitely de-rail you, but you have been so good, I don't think it will impact your progress too much.  Just make sure you're eating healthy and being active when you can!

@@cruisebride2016 Wow!  5 lbs is awesome - good for you!  It is so much harder when you're partner is sitting there eating delicious naughty food and you're trying to be good.  But I think you got this!!!

@@Wafflesmom Yay!  Congrats on the loss and gains in the right places!  You're so awesome, even with all your celebrations lately!  Poor Waffles, hope she feels better soon!

I'm going to take some measurements this weekend!  Thanks for motivating me ladies  :)

HI ladies!

I just stumbled across this board tonight.  This website has been a godsend!

So, I'm going to join in on all this!  I really need to get my ass back in shape!  I want to feel comfortable in my clothes again!  My overall goal is like 50 lbs.  Its amazing where it hides!

I signed up for spin classes at a new gym and I have my first class Saturday and I'm heading to a weight watchers meeting with a friend tomorrow.  She lost 60ish lbs in the past and still goes for motivation, so she is going to be my moral support tomorrow!

I did spin and MFP religiously for 6 weeks last year and lost 15 lbs and then met my now fiance!  Lots of drinks and dinners out and the weight is back, so I'm ready to get my butt back in shape!

If anyone is on MFP, my user name is vanessajfelice, so feel free to add me!

Hi @@vanessajfelice!  Welcome to the thread!  So nice to have another lady on here for support and motivation!  You have such a great plan set up and now we're going to hold you to it so you're sure to succeed!

My update

I've been hitting the gym hard, clean eating, spinning etc and can notice that I'm toning.  However, I got on my scale and actually said I was gaining!  (I know the numbers don't mean much but I still check).  I got on my digital scale first thing this morning with no clothing on and had gained 2 lbs back... then I drank a glass of water and went to the gym for spin. I weighed myself on the manual gym scale with my running shoes and workout clothes on and was 5 lbs less than this morning... which brings me lower than my pre-December weight and back on track!  I'm feeling leaner and healthier and loving this feeling - definitely going to keep this up!

I plan to take my measurements this weekend and continue meal prepping, clean eating and smashing the gym.  I want to look amazing at my shower in 3 weeks.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!  xo

So, I joined weight watchers today.  I had a friend who convinced me to go to a meeting and this new program they are doing seems to be pushing people towards proteins and away from sugars/bad things which is EXACTLY what I need.

Starting a new place tomorrow for spin classes- can't wait to get back to it!

Have a great weekend everyone!

You girls are all so good at keeping on track. I'm struggling. The plan was to do AM works out and I can honestly say that has not happened once lol It's more a schedule glitch rather than laziness though. I am happy to report that I have been making it to the gym 3-4 nights a week after work and going to hockey every Friday night. The workouts haven't been my best but I figure going for a little bit is better than not going at all. My diet has been okay but there is always room for improvement. My coke zero addiction has also at an all time high. I wish I could trick myself into drinking water.

Keep up the hard work ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
