@@calgarybride2015 a loss of 6.4lbs? That's awesome, you should be really proud of yourself!

@@yycbride2016 I'm sorry you've hit a rough patch but I'm glad that was only for a brief moment. Don't be so hard on yourself. Your pics on instagram are amazing and you're definitely an inspiration. Plus, 2.5lbs in 3 days, wow! What is the 21 day fix?

@@Wafflesmom thanks! It's motivating when I get feedback from my Instagram. I like knowing if I'm reaching out to even one person. It actually motivates me to just try and post once a day, I feel guilty like I cheated if I didn't post haha.

The 21 day fix is a nutrition and fitness program. I only follow the nutrition side of it. It basically teaches you portion control. So I eat 4 portions of protein, 3 of veggies, 2 carbs, etc. I'll post some pics of the basic concepts (sorry for the quality, I found them online): post-283167-144500542052_thumb.jpgpost-283167-144500542921_thumb.jpg

Oh and the colors correspond to food groups:

Red: protein

Green: vegetables

Yellow: carbs

Purple: fruit

Orange: seeds & dressings

Blue: healthy fats

2tsp of oils & nut butters

And I decided to start my week with what is called the 3 day quick fix. It's a really strict version of the plan for 3 days where you basically don't get fruit or fats. It's supposed to be like "be competition ready in 72hours". I didn't do quite that good haha. I think I might do the 3 day quick fix once a month up until the wedding to speed things up. Here is a pic of the plan:

Noone has checked in, so to keep this thread active I will.... :)

I was a bit surprised that I only lost .6 this week given I did well over the long weekend, but a loss is a loss.  My total is 7lbs.

I only worked out twice last week so really trying to get up to 3 this week.

Next week I start a new casual job, so I am going to be stressed.

Not only do I have to figure out how to work out in the evenings (so much easier in the AM after I bring the kids to school) but now I have full time work and a full time course load!!!!!!  EEK!!!! wish me luck.

I only train until the end of November, but I know they have a full time line opening I am going to apply for!!!!  Trying to get into the school work full steam ahead.  Unfortunately the gym may take a back seat... will aim for atleast 2x a week though until the end of November when things should calm down some!!!

Hope others are doing well.

@@calgarybride2015 wow, that's an insane schedule! We definitely need to find you your anniversary vacation, and stat! That's great that you've steadily lost weight. Don't be so hard on yourself, weight loss is a loss which is a heck of a lot better than a gain ;) With your busy schedule, I can see the gym taking a backseat. The best thing is to probably be more aware of what you eat and try to not opt for fast food. I know when I'm stressed and busy, I tend to cheat and do the easy route with fast food. So bad for us!

And thanks for reminding me that I have not checked in.

For me, I was not very good during the Thanksgiving weekend and ate my face off. I'm so weak when it comes to my sister's home cooking. I did workout 3x last week, wait 4 with one session of Hiitmax thanks to @@deecol. I didn't do as well with meal planning and it showed, I gained 2lbs. I'm not too concerned since my weight tends to fluctuate and I still fit my wedding dress (had the second fitting last Saturday) so I know it didn't affect my measurements. The 2 lbs has just motivated me more to exercise harder and eat better.

This week has started off well. We had our fitness test at bootcamp and I broke my record for three things. I managed to do a wallsit for 8 mins and 45 seconds, a personal best for me! And I did 32 burpees I'm a minute which is also a personal best. I have 2 more sessions of pilates plus 1 bootcamp then I'll do some hiitmax exercises at home on the weekend. Super excited and motivated, can you tell? Lol So my goal this week is to do all the exercises I mentioned.

For wedding planning, I plan on working on some paperwork for the resort, like my legal ceremony form, guestlist form and send off our required documents for our legal ceremony. Then I'm gonna start tackling some of the smaller tasks like decorate our marquee letters, make up a sample OOT bag to see if I need anything else, and finalize other décor items like placemats and table settings. I'm getting excited since we're now at 95 days until our wedding, double digit countdown :)

@@Wafflesmom

Glad you aren't hard on yourself because with the workouts you did your gain could very well be water retention too!!! I also gain with weights and new exercises. You'll do great this week and you've done great overall :) keep it up!

@@calgarybride2015 7lbs is a huge success! You have to count every little ounce a success I find. I'm noticing it harder to lose/manage my weight every year I get older :( but 7 lbs is awesome! I'm sorry your schedule is going to get cray cray! You can do it! You have the motivation and drive!

@@Wafflesmom you are doing so good! Look at that motivation! Killer! Keep it up. You are doing lot of exercise which is great. Remember you can't out exercise a bad diet. Good luck with grocery shopping. I hate grocery shopping hahaha.

@parianjay well done on working out on Sunday, taking yesterday off is no big deal. Sometimes you just have to listen to your body! If your body needs a break then take a break!

As for my check in:

I worked out last week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and then again yesterday. Took one extra break day on Sunday because I was lazy haha. I don't feel too bad about it though. My diet has been very up and down. My fiancé has been amazing at holding me accountable. Except for last night when we were both weak and wanted a snack . My future mother in law got me a cook book that is specific to the 21 day fix plan and it is amazing! So much variety. All week I'm having healthy Mac and cheese with chicken and broccoli! I've also discovered these amazing protein crepes that are only 190 calories (that includes a banana and a Greek yogurt filling). I think with this cook book I'll be on my A-game!

Go team brides!!!

Thanks for getting this going again @@calgarybride2015!

@@Wafflesmom I'm glad you're enjoying the hiitmax!  I haven't been very good with it lately, I've been working out, just haven't made it past week 2 of the program yet.

I indulged on the weekend - Made a three-course meal for Col that included 3 apps (I'm Italian...) dinner and chocolate mousse for dessert.  I did try to swap healthy options in where I could - I made gnocchi and used 2/3 sweet potato instead of all white and made my own fresh pesto sauce.  We were so full we couldn't even drink all the wine I bought to go with dinner  :P Needless to say I haven't lost any weight... but I didn't gain either which is good.

I started the week right by making a big crockpot of chicken chili for lunches loaded with veggies and beans and paired it with quinoa.  I also bought this buckwheat pancake flour from Bulk Barn that you mix with water, it's full of protein and fibre so I've been having that with egg whites for breakfast.  I've been working out (spin & weights) consistently, and going to start adding hiitmax back in.  Colin is really motivated at the moment.  He started changing up his workouts and his body is reacting so quickly (ugh guys!) so he's finally motivating me to stay on it when it's usually the other way around.  We're hitting our 6 month mark soon and had almost all the Canadian payments come through (deadline is tomorrow) so I think it's becoming real to him how close this is coming!

My best friend's bachelorette is this weekend - I'm not planning on drinking very much since I'm doing all the driving from Toronto to Ottawa and back, I definitely don't want to drive 5 hours with a hangover.  I did order naughty cupcakes and I know we're going out for dinner but I will try my best to behave - YOLO (do the kids still say that?  :P )

Wedding planning - as you can see in my thread, I've been playing around with my flowers... and took an inventory of everything that I've purchased in the last few months.  I've added a couple things that I'll post pics of soon in my thread.

@@yycbride2016 what's the name of that cookbook? Everything you've posted sound and look delicious, I'd like to try making them. And you're comply right about not being able to out exercise a bad diet. I can certainly do a lot better with meal planning, it's just so hard lol And great job with all the workouts! You're a machine!

@@deecol that gnocchi sounds so good. And yes, YOLO lol plus your cheat didn't do any damage so it's all good. And don't you hate how guys lose weight and change so easily/quickly? So unfair. Sounds like you're giving him a run for his money though with the exercises and meal prep. All sounds so delicious.

That's great that all the deposits have been coming in, ours isn't due until Nov 20.

And what's a naughty pancake?

Oh and great choice on bouquet arrangement selection! Both were beautiful

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
