My company just decided to cancel our free gym memberships and are offering to pay half.  I can't justify paying for a membership if I have a gym in my building... so long spin classes  :(  :(  :(

@@deecol Oh no, what awful timing for them to cancel the free membership!

Ooh 4 days apart, that's exciting! Where are you getting married?

I completed workout 3 today! Haven't done much on wedding stationery as planned...I need to crack on with it.

@@deecol are you ok? I'm sorry to hear about the family stress. If you need to vent, I'm always here for you I'm glad you've used the negativity to your advantage though. And that totally sucks about the gym membership. I agree about not being able yo justify paying for a membership if you have a gym in the building. Maybe just up your HIIT training as substitution?

@@vancouverpetunia you go girl! You're totally rocking it and I love how motivated you are! If you keep this up, you'll hit your goals in no time!

@@SunshineDreamKay you're doing so well too! 3 workouts? Wow, that's awesome!

@@JoannaBanana you're hilarious! Bargain hunting around michaels will be great cardio lol. Load up your cart and you can add weights while shopping lol

As for me, despite still being sick, I managed to do two bootcamp sessions and one Pilates! My bootcamp yesterday was awesome, my legs are still sore from all the squats. As I told you all earlier this week, my coworker scared me so I went to see the Dr on Tuesday and I had a chest X-ray done. Well on my way home from work , I got a phone call from my dr's office and my heart stopped. They said they got the results of my X-ray and I needed to come in (that's never a good sign). So apparently I have bronchitis. I was relieved because at least it wasn't pneumonia. So now I have to take antibiotics for a week and I've been advised against working out until the bronchitis is gone my Dr says he normally allows ppl with bronchitis to do mild exercises but with my weakened lungs, he advised that I refrain all together. As stubborn as I am, we're now at less than 4 months and I need to make sure I'm at 100% by then. So I guess my health goal this week is to kick bronchitis in the butt and get better.

Since I can't workout, I will focus on wedding tasks. Der and I have an appointment with Indochino to get his custom suit for the wedding. Woohoo, I can't wait! We're also going to Michaels to buy some wood frames so we can paint them coral for our table numbers. Aside from that, we'll label and mail out our invitations.

@@SunshineDreamKay I know - everyone in the office is pretty upset.  Just keep it until April at least!

We are getting married at the Grand Bahia Principe Coba in Riviera Maya.

@@Wafflesmom I'm okay :)  Thank you so much!

Can't believe they are taking away our memberships - such a bummer.  I'll def have to use the Hiitmax workouts more now, and will still do cardio but these classes made it so much more fun and I was seeing some progress :(

Sorry to hear about your bronchitis!  But happy that it's not something worse!  Well done on your workouts - but you should definitely rest this week and get better!  Just keep your diet clean and you'll be fine :)  Can't wait to see your table number frames and Der's suit!

Thanks @@deecol I'm really glad it's not something worse. I will definitely rest to make sure I get better. And yes, you're right, I will keep with a clean diet although I find that I actually lose weight when I'm on antibiotics. My body us resistant to amoxicillin now and I'm now on biaxin. It does a number on my stomach so I make sure to eat yogurt with probiotics!

Overall, I have done pretty good with exercise. I tried the new workout with my co-worker last week and I enjoyed it. I also went to the gym last Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. And, I went to the gym tonight even though I am going on vacation in 2 days. Normally, this close to vacation, I am too busy between work and packing that I don't make it to the gym, so it made me really happy to go tonight!

I haven't done as well as far as food goes. At least I am tracking my calories and have tracked on My Fitness Pal for 32 days in a row. But, this past week I was above my goal pretty much every day. Fortunately, most days it is only 100-200 calories, but over the weekend I cheated and it was higher. Hopefully, my exercise over the weekend will balance out the food :)

Now, I am in survival mode for the next week or so. I leave on Saturday, then get on a 7 day cruise on Sunday. I have already thought about my game plan. My fiance and I plan to walk the track every day and take the stairs. Also, I am going to skip the bread at dinner and try to choose healthy foods or my splurge foods will be things I can't get at home. I am going to bring instant oatmeal for breakfast in the room, instead of getting bagels or other higher calorie options. And, I bought healthier snacks (low sodium jerky, dried fruit, trail mix) as compared to my normal jelly beans and gummy worms. Usually, I throw all efforts out the window during vacation, so hopefully being more aware will keep the weight gain to no more than 3 pounds, instead of my normal 5.

@@SunshineDreamKay Welcome! I'm also an April bride :)

@@deecol That sucks about your gym membership. Maybe check out community centres around you? I used to go to a really great spin class at my community centre for $5 a class. If you are only going once or twice a week supplementing your other workouts, it might not be too expensive.

@@Wafflesmom I liked your post - but for the workouts you've done, not for the bronchitis!  I had bronchitis earlier this year (and have had it a few times before). I actually was sick for most of our Mexico vacation, including our site visit, which sucked, so I can empathize. Take it easy and get better. Hopefully the antibiotics kick in quickly.

@@cruisebride2016 Sounds like you have a good plan in place for managing your vacation. It def helps to have a plan. I've even found that if I'm going out for dinner, I check out the restaurant menu in advance and decide on the healthiest option. It's better than trying to decide when I'm hungry and delicious smelling dishes are going by my table. So I can imagine that planning for your cruise, while on a much larger scale, will help a lot. Have a great time!  :D

@@JoannaBanana Oh no. But I'm sure it's just a fluctuation. It definitely happens. Glad to hear you got a walk in today!

@vancouverpetunia- Good point about looking at the menus! We plan to eat in the Mexican restaurant, so I already looked at that menu and decided what I will get. I will have access to the dinner menu earlier in the day before actually going to the dining room, so I will look it over and decide on my meal before I get there and let my hunger override good judgement!

@@vancouverpetunia thanks for the well wishes. I will definitely take it easy this week, I don't want to get worse!

@@cruisebride2016 you are so motivated and such an inspiration. Great job with all the exercises you've completed. Don't feel bad about being above your calorie goal weight. You've been tracking and being more aware of what you're eating, so that's a great start! And I commend you for planning ahead of time for your cruise. I'm weaker than you and tend to indulge at all the buffets, especially chocolate buffet night! During our last cruise, I made sure I signed up for gym classes and they helped a lot. Because I had to pay for the sessions, it forced me to attend them and I loved that I was actually active while on vacation.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
