When Should I Contact The Resort Re Planning?

Recommended Posts

Our wedding is October 27th, 10 weeks from this past Tuesday.  The resort said they would be in contact with me to go over my details, but I haven't heard from them yet.  I have been compiling a list of questions over the past few months...and once in a while have contacted them before purchasing something to make sure it can be used.  They have always responded to my messages in a reasonable amount of time.  Just not sure if they should have contacted me already or not....trying not to panic lol

Should I contact them, or wait a week and see if they contact me after the 27th of this month?

@@RivieraBride15 What resort are you booked at? Did they give a specific time frame in which they would contact you to go through your details?

It's hard to say without knowing the resort as each one operates differently. I started booking my details immediately after I put down my deposit but I know many resorts that don't go through the details until 1 or 2 months before your wedding.

Do you have a phone number to call? I always find when I'm having a hard time getting an email response from the resort, calling them usually works. I'm sure it will all work out! I hope you hear from them soon!

We are getting married at the Catalonia Riviera Maya.  They said they start with the details 2-3 months before the wedding and in one of our last correspondence, they said everything has to be finalized by the end of September.  Maybe I will give them another week or two and see what happens?  I know they have lots of brides, so I dont want to be a pain :)

@RivieraBride15  If you're at all concerned, contact them. If it's going to put your mind at ease, send a quick email and ask them. Mention that you're only 10 weeks out now and if everything is to be finalized by the end of September, when will you hear from the coordinator to get it all done. Yes - it varies with every resort and you're right, they do have lots of brides. But it's also your wedding and if all you're asking is when you'll hear from someone, you're entitled to ask!! You aren't being a pain! I would absolutely send a quick note and see what they say!

Good luck!

My sister got married there! It was about 6-8 weeks before when she starting working with them on details.

I don't think there is any harm in reaching out though. If they have a final details sheet that they'll want you to complete, you could just ask for a copy of it so you can be prepared with all your choices and questions. My resort sent me my final details sheet like 3 months in advance. I sent it back 2 months in advance but they did absolutely nothing with it until a couple weeks before anyway.

My sister loved the wedding coordinators and her wedding was beautiful so try not to worry!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
