Hi,

I am making final preparations for our wedding in 10 weeks time in Jamaica.  So I wanted to join a forum so that we can share our experiences and hear from others..

We have decided to write our own vows has anyone else done this or just gone for the traditional vows?

Thanks

Vee

I'm a Jamaican bride from 2011. We loved the island and the people and hope sometime to go back. It hasn't worked out so far but we'll get there...

We're planning a vow renewal this October for very specific reasons and are writing vows for it. It's two months away and I haven't even made it to that part yet. I know or have an idea what I want to say but haven't put the words together yet. I'm going to end up crying anyway! lol

We didn't write our own vows, per say, but we found ceremony scripts online that we like and copied/pasted into what worked for us. So our vows weren't personalized - I'm not a great writer - but the ceremony reflected exactly our perspectives on love and married and our vows were exactly what we wanted to promise each other. That made it personal. We aren't religious so our ceremony did not mention God. I'm happy to find our script and post it if that would be helpful!

Hello VeeVee,

I am having my wedding at Hummingbird Hall in Feb 2016 and I'm getting very excited. I have noticed that if you add on things that are not in the package, it can be very expensive. I have done many DIY projects and will take it to the venue once I arrive.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
