Secrets Montego Bay Wedding W/pics- Any Questions?

That is awesome that you had 85 people come and thank you again for all of your help! Was the bonfire big I saw a picture where it looked like just a smaller burner but maybe that was because they had smores they might have set that up on the side. Did they charge to set up the tables at the event for the wecome bags or the show racks.

@@JamaicaNicole They didn't charge us for the set up of the bonfire tables, and they just provided the shoe racks (I didn't even know about them until I saw them coming back down the aisle! ha!). They did charge the $50 setup fee for the day of, but considering all they did, that was the biggest bargain of the whole weekend!

@@JoannaBanana Thank you! The dress was comfy and light, my main two requirements, ha!

@@cora4600 your video and pictures are absolutely beautiful. It's great to hear that everything turned out great. I think the majority of us brides just want everything to be okay and having a destination is a little hard..anywho it's great to hear that everything went well...I'm thinking about having my reception inside since my wedding is in May and it may be super humid. This may sound crazy lol but How were the mosquitoes there?

@@KG1990 Honestly, don't let the WC's push you into a ballroom if you don't really want to. They kept trying to do that to me, and I was adamant that we stay outside and I'm ssssoooo glad we did. The weather was perfect, a little hot, but all the guest knew that going in, and we provided some sunshades for those that needed it.

The bugs AT the resort were never an issue. We did have one couple stay their first night by the airport due to a mix up in their flights, and they came to the resort with over a hundred bites on them each!!! Apparently they went out for dinner and just got attacked. We were at SWO for 12 days and we never got a single bug bite.

Hope that helps!

@@cora4600 oh thank you so much! That's great to hear no bugs! I have another question: how soon did you send the resort your pics of your flowers that you wanted to have? Did you pick them early or closer to the 3 month time frame? Tai Flora?

@@RandL2015 how's your planning coming along? You're set for November correct? Have they sent you the form to pick out all your choices yet?

@@KG1990 my planning is going along pretty well. Thinking about doing my planning thread when I'm ~ 2 months out. Right now I post on November Brides 2015.  Waiting for my RSVP'S to come in. I don't know why people wait until the LAST MINUTE to book their room and flights.

So I still don't have a hard count yet, but I thinking it would be around the 15 -20 people count.

Unfortunately, getting married on Thanksgiving worked for my fiancé and I, just didn't know the airfare was going to be over $600.00 round trip.

My fiancé told me not to worry about it. We gave everyone at least at 18 months noticed with payment plans. We figured those who REALLY wanted to come will be there.

Received the resort's form. Must be in 2 months prior to your wedding. My final RSVP deadline is Sept. 16th, will send their form back then.

@@RandL2015 I can already foresee people not rsvp'n as well. We are planning to send out our invites this month with a deadline of Dec 31st. I'm just hoping my guests will send their rsvps back in time so I can get a good headcount.

How exciting though for you! Getting pretty close! I'm sure everything will go fine and I keep hearing that the resort is beautiful!

Yes, getting excited now. One thing though, I went to mail my notarized documents and they told me to send it by courier instead. Most of the mail gets lost and never arrives or arrives too late.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
