Hi Brides!

I am looking for any help you may have for a great photographer in Punta Cana .. that is reasonably priced .. and when i say that .. i mean. . no more than $2000 for a decent package (7+ hours of coverage) .. i feel like when looking at the prices of photographers my budget is low .. but considering my wedding is costing $3000 alone .. i don't have much room left for the photographers!

I am from Canada, and I hate that all these prices are in USD!! It kills me .. are there any photographers, other than Photo Phil, that charge in CAD??

I love Karina Jensen's style .. her prices aren't too bad .. but i just wanted to check and see if any brides found someone with the same style, but less $$

I'm also looking but finding it hard to stay within budget.. especially with an outside vendor fee of $300!

Katya Nova is amazing! ..but very high and WAY over what I can afford.

I recommend Sasha Chou Photoraphy. A very talented and friendly photographer. She loves to tavel. I am sure you can discuss good rate with her. Check out her photo. http://sashachouphotography.tumblr.com/

A more affordable way to spend destination wedding is hiring a local vacation photographer instead. You save a lot on travel expenses, hotel expenses and have a LOCAL photogapher to show you around. Check out PicVoyage. A new vacation photography service company. http://www.picvoyage.com which offers family photos, honeymoon, engagement, elopement and intimate destination photo service. The package is really affordable comapring to a destination wedding photographer. They can also offer local vaaction photo tours experience. I think it is pretty cool idea to save money and also get to tour the city.

This was a bride that got married in April in Punta Cana. I have no idea what her cost was but her photos are stunning and she used HDC Photography. Plus her vendor fee was even higher than what you've been quoted so her thread is probably worth a look.

Oh yes, decisions can be difficult. I got married last february at Dreams and did tons of research before finding my photographers. As a professional photo editor, I really wanted the wedding photos to be special and one thing I know is that you usually get what you pay for. One advice is do not scrimp on your photography budget. The photos are the lasting memories of the day and most of cheap photographers will just shoot and burn, giving you flat, dull, unedited photographs .Of course it all depends what you are looking for and how much photography is important to you.

I found Photo Souvenir ( you can find them in the vendor reviews) at the last minute and begged Renaud and Severine to commit to shooting our wedding.  They were clearly the best wedding photographers in Punta Cana, by a long shot. I also liked Katya Nova's work and Karina Jensen but  Severine and Renaud's work had it all for me with a perfect combination of lightning/composition/storytelling/creativity/pricing. Photographers like them in New York would cost at least 5000 US so their rates are very good for what they do and  you might consider the option if it is in your budget range. I personally had the best experience and my photos are outstanding ( and I am very hard to please!). I will place a full review soon and I hope it helps.

Hello,

I just noticed on facebook that my awesome photographers Severine and Renaud (Photo Souvenir Punta Cana) are running a very generous giveaway till March 15 (you can win a full wedding coverage for your wedding!!!).

I thought I should let all the brides know since it is a huge opportunity and they are the best! Just check their blog

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
