Can't Decide On Which Resort

Hello all,

Love this website! So I just recently got engaged and want to do a destination wedding, I have narrowed it down to 2 resorts in Mexico.

1) The Finest in Playa Mujeres

2) The Beach Palace in Cancun

I am looking for a resort that has top shelf alcohol, beautiful beach with no sticks and shells hurting your feet, and beautiful weather. What is the best month to get married? Would love to hear your feedback ;)

Congrats! Mexico is beautiful for a DW! I would definitely recommend finding a good travel agent first of all. Both the resorts you mentioned have their own specific features and are both very popular resorts with the brides to be here. Beach Palace is very popular. I know there are a couple of threads here of brides that have used or are using Beach Palace. Just do a search up top and there will be different forums that come up. Reading definitely will get you ideas that have been used by past brides as well as what current brides are going through with their planning. A travel agent will help you with your must haves, your budget and the budget for your guests as well as what the packages offer and what they cost. You might also be entitled to some perks or something that are available that a travel agent will be able to help you with.

I don't know if you're in the US or Canada but there are agent recommendations here that might also help you out.

Good luck and happy planning!

Hey @@stephanienicole,

I have done weddings at both resort.

1.  Finest playa mujeres has such a beautiful beach in fact the ceremony is really not crowded by tourist on the beach.  if you go with them choose their sky terrace its absolutely beautiful.  Services was a little slow but nothing major.

2.  Beach palace the food is amazing !  service was good ,also with them go with their roof top on 8th floor . it has a perfect view to the ocean. because the beach is in the hotel zone so its a bit busy there.  for what ever reason I cannot post pics in this post.

Feel free to reach out I can share pics with you.

Happy Planning

Joyce

Hi Stephanie,

Congrations and welcome on board!!

I faced the same challenge. The ladies on this site are VERY informative. It definitely helped in my decision and I will still be doing a site visit later this year. The best advice I could give to decide between the 2 resorts is to write a pros and cons list for each one based on your preferences and what is most important to you. From there you will definitely know the way to go!

Good luck and Happy Planning!

Hi Stephanie,

My fiancé and I researched for the last year or so and have finally booked excellence playa mujeres. We've been to tons of sandals, secrets etc and decided to try something different. They ticked all our boxes, have great pricing, have had great communication and the resort looks beyond gorgeous. It all depends on what you want, we find cancun to be a bit too noisy so us personally wouldn't do it there. We've stayed at multiple resorts in the riviera so I wouldn't discount those but check out EPM, happy hunting!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
