Wafflesmom Moon Palace Planning Thread - January 23, 2016

Thanks for your input @@deecol! You're right about trusting my gut when picking between my uncle and brother. Both mean the world to me and I'm actually going to dance with both of them in lieu of the father/daughter dance. It will be a dance with the men in my life, my uncle, brother nephew and Derrick's dad

And I just checked my legal ceremony forms and witnesses just have to be there 3 business days before the ceremony, not 4 (that's only for Cozumel weddings). Are your Canadian family members there 3 business days before?

Aww that will be such a nice moment for you and the men in your life :) they are lucky guys!

My Canadian witnesses will be there 3 days before. The previous wedding planning manager from Gbp said 4 but I'm going to double check. If it's 3 that would work out perfectly!

@@deecol this is what my legal ceremony information sheet states:

Witnesses: Legal Wedding Ceremonies four witnesses are required.

If the wedding couple provides their own witnesses the following is needed; If witnesses are not available, Palace Resorts will provide them at no additional cost.

Witnesses must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the ceremony.

Witnesses must arrive three (3) business days Monday – Friday (four (4) if going to Cozumel) prior to ceremony.

I'm going to confirm, I can't find it on my paper work. The previous wedding manager said 4 but I found online that the requirement in the Riviera Maya is 3 days for witnesses. This manager is more on the ball than the previous one so we'll see. Thanks for bringing this up!!!

Update:

83 more days!!!! I'm so excited, it's getting so close. So this weekend I had my final dress fitting and Der had his suit fitting. Yup, it was a wedding planning weekend for the both of us.

For my dress fitting, I was so happy with how it all looks. The length is perfect, though my seamstress still wants to shorten the lining a bit more. The train is gorgeous and will look so beautiful while I walk down the aisle. We agreed on having the bustle on top instead of under as it showcases the ruffles more. And, as suggested by many, I did try on veils. As soon as she put the first one on me, I instantly fell in love! The veil is champagne so it matches my dress perfectly! And it's lined with a few jewels for a little added bling. I didn't want to take it off lol. I left my veil and dress at the store and won't pick it up until January 9. They'll steam it for me and get it all ready!

As for Derrick, Indochino did a great job with his suit. Although we bought a full suit, he's only wearing the dress shirt, pants and vest. I love the little touches of customization you can do with a custom suit, like his sleeve is monogrammed. Most of all, I love the fit on him!

So to get a visual of what we look like together, I put this photo together. It got me even more excited!!!post-279721-0-17863200-1446439121_thumb.jpeg

Beautiful!!! So glad you tried on a veil - it's crazy how you can have your mind set on one thing and then bam! It's great you were open minded about it because you look incredible!

So nice to get a visual of how you'll look together! You both look great!

Thank you so much @@deecol @ @@Danielle1 and @@calgarybride2015

@@deecol I'm so glad I tried on veils. It's funny because when I initially bought the dress, I tried on a veil and it didn't look good at all. My seamstress suggested trying them on again after the dress alterations were complete since I thought a veil plus a dress with ruffles seemed like so much fabric on me. But I put it on and it completed the look. I'm so excited!

@ you're so sweet! I was tearing up at Indochino because I was imagining myself walking towards Der in his suit. I am so happy with how it looks, it's the perfect grey too

@@Danielle1 you're just a month after me so yours is getting closer too! I got my PO and Yanet did a great job getting the majority of it correct. We went back and forth a few times and after a week, my PO is perfect. So you have nothing to worry about :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
