Thank goodness the bride and grooms room count because we wouldn't qualify otherwise! Glad you mentioned that because I hadn't thought of that. Good for you for surpassing the requirement. I'm nervous that im spot on the number.

Thats awesome that you got your ring 35% off! Well done. It pays off to shop around and to haggle when you can. We learnt which stores will lower prices on jewelry and which wont. I'm sure your ring is gorgeous!

I'm getting a little scared and excited. We have 33 booked and about 20 who one way or another are probably coming. This is turning in to something of a beast, and I really never thought we'd have this many. Money is a concern, though I did get a quote for 50 and we were okay with it. Excited to be close to a tally though so I can start planning my DIY stuff.

Okay guys. I'm officially worried. ACV just told me that since I used up my block of 30 seats that she has to give me a new quote!!! I was totally under the impression that as long as there was still room on the plane that my guests would be honored that price until our deadline October 19. I'm waiting for her response but I'm scared! I told most people October 1 was the deadline but then yesterday I went texting around and told a few people that no no we have to the 19th. I think there's only one family I need to concern myself with, but the ones I haven't heard from could be in for a shock too.... Ugh.... Here's hoping she honors the original quote, or the new one is comparable.

Hey! We were told that too so we told people if they don't book by xxx we can't promise the price BUT thankfully they honored it for our guests who booked late. Will cross fingers for you but don't feel bad !!

um I have a curiousity question. What is your wedding date? I went back and took a look and can't find it anywhere. Anyway, I was just curious.

Definitely don't budge on the tables. He'll understand when he figures it out.

Congrats on all the bookings! You'll have a good group. Don't worry about ACV - they like to sabrerattle because they can. You threaten to take your business elsewhere and your TA will fix it.

I totally agree with @calgarybride2015  I would definitely go dress hunting very soon! They absolutely can take up to 6 months. They usually don't but again the salons like to worry you unncessarily lol  But I wouldn't wait too much longer. Having said that there might be sales on right now since fall 2016 will be out soon.

May 12th, it's in the thread title!

I don't actually have a travel agent, I deal directly with ACV. I'm hoping my agent doesn't fight us...

Dress hinting I will admit I'm putting off for several reasons. I plan on TTC soon, and I'm kinda hoping to be pregnant by then. If I'm not pregnant then I hope I lose weight. I know.... I can't plan for the unknown and I should really just go buy a dress. I work 6 days a week though (2 jobs). Additionally I plan on going rather casual on the dress style.

Okay, now that I'm getting closer to my number I'm going to start planning.  I'll probably do between 50-60 of everything as I think I'm going to land just a little under/over that 50 mark.  So I made myself a list of things to start.

- Buttons/pins - I was thinking of us all boarding the plane and I thought it would be fun to have something that identifies as part of the same group.  Maybe I'll make some buttons.  I'm still considering this.

- Locate decent canvas beach totes - One per room?

- Design a Yearbook style Who-is-Who package/map/itinerary etc

- Get badge holders and lanyards for room key holders

- Custom shot glasses for table markers/gift

- Finally pull my colour scheme together rather than my vague mental image of "orange and bright but not crazy bright....."

- Figure out what else I could do on my budget!

Oh right... and that dress situation....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
