@@ashhtayy I'm so glad that everything worked out with your dress alterations. It sounded like a stressful situation and you handled it really well. I also LOVE the belt!!!

Can't wait to hear about your shower, it sounds like your girls have an amazing day planned for you! The poem is so cute! It's all coming together! 2 months...how did that happen? it's so soon!!

Today was my Bridal Shower and it couldn't have been more perfect. My bridesmaids and my mum planned the best afternoon and Mike and I were so spoiled.

I had preordered flowers for my girls and Mike came to deliver them at the end of the shower (& to help with the gifts and say his thank yous). He surprised me with some flowers too! :)

After the shower all my bridesmaids tried their dresses on. They look great. Next up - shoes for the ladies.

We're getting so close!

Aww. Everything looked really great!!! Also, your belt looks perfect. I think it will look really nice with your dress. You ended up doing the maracas afterall! I think you were on the fence about it if I remember correctly?

They were a nice touch at the wedding and although overdone sometimes, people really enjoyed them and had a lot of fun with them haha. There were definitely some drunken maraca moments.

As for the tags, we ordered ours from an Etsy vendor online. It was the same one that Rebecca used (Veryvalentine). I was extremely happy with mine and they were the perfect size (smaller and not overpowering the maraca). The shop was called smiling tag.. https://www.etsy.com/shop/SmilingTag?ref=l2-shop-info-avatar

We went with the "not as nice" saying (apparently).. "shake for a kiss". It was cute, although annoying at times because people went overboard with it haha. Everytime we weren't kissing people were dramatically shaking them at us during the reception.

@@deecol Thanks Dee! My girls went above and beyond :)

@@snswedding2016 Thanks Steph! I couldn't be happier with the whole shower.

@ Thanks Perian! I can't wait to see my belt sewn on. That should be completed Saturday when I go for my third fitting. For those following my seamstress fiasco, things were 1000x better fitting number two. I had a different seamstress that spoke English and other than her trying to convince me to put massive cups in my dress, she seemed to see and "get" my vision. I'm actually excited for my next fitting.

You're right - I wanted to do something other than maracas because my SIL had done them. In the end we went with them because 1. they're adorable 2. they'll add colour to the tables and 3. at the end of the day it doesn't really matter if my SIL had them - there isn't a ton of overlap on our guest list. Thanks for sending me your tag vendor. I was seconds away from ordering from SmilingTag when I double checked the shipping policy. For the first time in planning I'm worried something may not make it in time. Oh my gosh. Times been cut short! I found a few local vendors though - none with designs as cute, but I'll probably go with them so I can be sure I get the tags in time.

Some Updates

We received our song lyric print. The vendor was so sweet. She asked why I was doing ordering black font seen as how everything else I bought from her was gold. When I said so I could use it again side by side our guestbook map in our house, she offered to do the print in black and gold for no extra charge. She said it was the least she could do seen as how we live in Canada and I'm paying her in USD lol So kind!

The bow ties arrived yesterday. The pink isn't the same as the girls dresses but it's light enough that I think it will look great. It's actually an exact match with the girls flowers so I think the contrast is perfect.

Here is my artsy attempt at photography - Mike's wrinkled blue pants, the bow tie, gold mercury vase & a bouquet.

I need to get back into wedding mode. I figure once I get my shower cards completed (deadline is the weekend) then I'll be able to cross even more off our list.

Does anyone know where I can buy beautiful fake baby's breath? I want to add a tall vase with a little bit of baby's breath to the tables but haven't had any luck finding it. The Michaels I've checked didn't have nice baby's breath. Please let me know if you have any ideas! I guess I could buy real when I get there. I'll reach out for a price at the resort too.

@@ashhtayy your lyric print is beautiful, it's going to be such a nice keepsake for you guys after the wedding! Love the pink bowties and I agree that the lighter colour will be a nice contrast to the dresses.

As for baby's breath, I didn't see any when I was on the hunt for wedding decor but I feel like if anyone would know it would be @:)

Day of Presents for Parents and Nonna

Omg I'm in love with these hankies. We ordered from etsy vendor LarkspurAndLinen and I cannot wait to receive them!

We were able to customize the frame, hankie edge, colours and names (obviously!). The images I've attached are the samples but you get the idea. I picked up one for Mike as well that says "it was always you".

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
