Wow! I sure missed some excitement here. But enough said on that topic. I think your centerpieces will be great! They are simple & elegant. Please post when you have the flowers, etc.  :)

@@ashhtayy your rings are so amazing! They look so good together too! Glad to hear the marriage license process is easy. We are doing that tonight! I was just going to say check out la vie en rose. I bought 2 bikinis there a weeks ago and they are a great sale! 2 bikinis for $34. I love the champagne glitter table runners! So classy and Fun! Those flowers will look amazing in the gold mason jars! And the table numbers are super cute too!

oh definitely! It's very hard to process it though until you actually get there and see it on their tables lol. I remember I spent so much time at home trying to make my table look like a guest table and moving around votives etc.. it drove me wild. I just left it up to my coordinator and it came out really nicely!

@@ashhtayy Your tables are going to look fabulous!  Your theme is similar to @ but it's nice that you can see how beautiful her's looked and get a really good idea about how yours will look.  My colours are similar to @@Wafflesmom and her wedding was gorgeous so it gives a really nice idea!  Great minds  :)

Did your Map/guestbook arrive yet?

@@Kjmenden Thank you, but I have had my wedding, maybe not at Azul Fives. I had my own fair review for my resort and there were some things that didn't work out to plan - all taken with a grain of salt. There are brides on this forum, actually one that responded to you in this thread who had already had her wedding at Azul Fives and had a great experience.

I'd just caution you in regards to your approach. You're entitled to your review regardless of it's validity and I can appreciate that, but I think it's wrong for you to post it on a future bride's planning thread. I'm sure you had offered your unsolicited opinion prior, but I don't think that rant of yours was warranted or even appreciated.

@@ashhtayy disregard my last response. It was responding to a post that has now been removed... haha

@@yycbride2016 – Thank you!! Yes, marriage license was super easy! My gf scared me because she said she had to go back multiple times because they didn’t accept her husband’s birth certificate. To make sure we had no issues we brought our driver’s licenses, passports and birth certificates and all she looked at was our DL’s. So easy! To be safe I would bring more than one piece of ID each…just in case!

@@deecol – We’re lucky that the former brides shared their photos and vision as they went through the planning process. It can be so hard to visualize everything and it’s so reassuring once we see theirs come to life J

Guest Book Frame: I received the proof last Tuesday via email (it was supposed to arrive the Friday before; no big deal) and…it wasn’t what I wanted at all. I partially blame myself because although I did outline what I was looking for, I could have been clearer. I wasn’t worried at all because I knew she offered unlimited revisions. I had read in her reviews that she was so quick with revisions but it’s been a week and I haven’t heard anything. Last night I saw on her Company Instagram that she had just gotten engaged (maybe that’s why there is such a delay?) Not sure but you just reminded me and I convo’d her on Etsy. She ended up getting back to me tonight (this reply has been open on my computer for 6 hours now lol) and apologized and said the revisions would be out soon. We (I) splurged a lot on this purchase so I hope we’re not disappointed.

@ – I’ve already told you and Dee this but although I am glad her post got deleted I’m a little disappointed I didn’t get the chance to read it haha Probably for the better though – I intentionally didn’t respond to her messages offering feedback because I didn’t want it! I got feedback from level headed brides with reasonable expectations which had beautiful weddings…that’s all I needed or ever asked for.  Thanks for the back up :)

@@Kjmenden I'm really sorry that you had that experience. However there are certain things that bothered me about your "review". I understand I'm a bit late to the party, but I feel like I need to say what I think.

1- Your bridesmaids "thought things wouldn't get set up on time" so they did it. You forget these guys do this day in and day out. I am sure your wedding would have been set up wonderfully had you let them to their job and not jumped the gun based on when and how you thought things should have been done.

2 - "The reviews from inside bloggers" - I'm sorry, but with only 3 posts and one of them being this super negative one, the one that seems to be getting paid is you, not us, who have planned this wedding down to every detail on these forums. There is no way you can prove that people are getting paid to write reviews and while I am sorry that you had a bad experience, it is not universal.

3 - "The dump of a room that your husband got" - My husband actually got one of the new rooms. It was very nice. So again, your experience is not universal. All you had to do was politely ask for another one, if you were that picky.

4 - Room service - yes, if you call at 1:30 AM it usually takes them longer because, well, you're not the only one who orders room service.

5 - People got sick from the welcome dinner - This seems to me like it should have read "I suspect that it was the food" because you can't prove it. Some of our guests also got sick, but we narrowed it down that it was probably due to us using tap water to brush our teeth. We also can't prove it, but hey, it's what happens when you travel sometimes. I can't blame the resort and neither did my guests.

6 - What exactly do you expect by posting this review? I understand that you are angry, but honestly, just because you had a bad experience it doesn't mean that everyone will. It is also not the place to hijack someone's thread, who by the way, has pretty much her whole wedding planned out, just to voice your opinion and make others second guess their choice. I supposed that had you stopped thinking about yourself for one second and actually checked out the forums you would have realized that. Too much to ask I guess.

I could go on, but honestly, what for. I don't expect you will read this, because you're obviously just going around and ranting in random places, but at least know that your kind of negativity is not welcomed here.

@@ashhtayy i'm loving the centerpieces. I think the mason jars turned out really well! I also had a bit of a disappointing run with spray paint. it's a lot harder than I thought! haha.

I can't wait to see it all with the flowers :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
