"As this is a destination wedding, we completely understand you may not be able to travel to Mexico for our marriage ceremony. Please take a moment on our special day to include us in your thoughts, you will be in ours."

I think that last sentence sounds a little funky, almost like a sympathy card, any better way to state it?

    Thanks!

is this for an invite or for a rsvp card?
also are your invites formal or casual in the wording?

Paula, hopefully I'll remember---- but I think our original STD had similar wording.... I'll look at it tonight and post if there's anything worthwhile in it...

            Thanks for the responses.
I wouldn't say it's formal, but it's not very casual either.
We are adding it to the bottom of the Travel & Accomodations insert since it is pretty short.

Here is the beginning of that insert:

We will be staying at Dreams CancÂșn All-inclusive resort.
We recommend this hotel and hope you can join us.

As this is a destination wedding, we completely understand you may not be able to travel to Mexico for our marriage ceremony. Please take a moment on our special day to include us in your thoughts, you will be in ours.

We understand and respect that not all of our family and friends will be able to join us in Mexico for our Destination Wedding. We will be sure to take a moment on our special day to reflect on our treasured relationships so if you are not able to make it, please know that you will be there with us in spirit.

This is along the lines of what I was thinking.

I say keep it simple. It's not rocket science. :-)

"We know that many of you won't be able to join us in Mexico. But please know that you will be in our hearts as we exchange vows, and hope you share in our joy -- wherever you are."

I personally would not include that last part at all.
People already know it is a destination wedding and not everyone will be able to come. Just omit it. It seems better that way.
