@LeighC

I love your thread so far! Its so good and you are so on the ball with all your planning! Way ahead of schedule which will make this whole process a breeze for you. I'm also hoping if I get everything done early then leading up to the wedding will be stress free.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR DRESS!!!! It looks so amazing on you. You really picked the perfect dress for you. Its going to look so good on the beach and flowy in the sun with the tropical breeze! I love it!

@@TinkerSofi @@yycbride2016  Thanks you!!  I must admit that I still have second thoughts about the dress sometimes.  Shouldn't I love it on the hanger?  but it really does have everything I was looking for, and I think once I see it with the hair, and shoes and makeup, I won't be able to imagine wearing anything else.

As an aside, the frankenstein dress I was originally considering was from Truvelle, a canadian designer.  If anyone is still looking for a dress, her stuff is beautifully simple, light, and flattering.  Dear god, so flattering.

Speaking of the "bridal look"....am I crazy to think about spending $150+ on a pair of sandals???

I kind of love them.

I realize a lot of you are from Canada and might have different options, but where are you finding your shoes?

@@LeighC I get having the second thoughts on the dress. I am, too. I have a short dress, which is what I want, it's just the style that is not what I had in mind. But I LOVE your dress. If I wasn't sticking with short, I would be looking for something like yours.

As for the sandals, yikes, that is pricey. But they are very pretty and look very high quality. I got my shoes from David's, but I wanted heels (wedges). Not sure what they have for sandals, if anything. But I thought their prices were reasonable.

@@LeighC I wouldn't worry about your dress at all. It seriously looks stunning on you. I had the opposite reaction to a dress last weekend. I loved it on the hanger and thought omg this will be the one (it had a detachable tulle skirl and a blingy belt and the whole under dress was lace). I thought omg this is perfect! Put it on and absolutely hated it. No one liked it haha. And I wouldn't worry. My mum and I will go shopping and she always gives me weird looks when i see things to try on and she's like well thats strange and then I put it on and we love it. So as long as you love the way you look and feel in that dress then nothing else matters.

Those shoes are gorgeous. I'm a little suprirsed that they cost $150! I think you could find something that looks super similar for cheaper. Do you have a Le Chateau? They have some amazing bridal shoes in there. I am going to get these sparkly wedges I found there last weekend. Or what about Payless shoes? They ahve very similar shoes to those ones i'm pretty sure and they usually have really good prices. Personally I'd look in local stores before ordering online. What if they aren't comfortable?! Ah!

I've seen a few ladies on here over the last couple of years doing the Badgley Mischka's so I can't really say yours are pricey compared to them but yeah... lol they're pricey. But they are definitely super cute!! I love the blue sole!

@@LeighC I love your planning thread! And I agree with everyone, your dress is gorgeous. I know you're second guessing it a bit but I think it's beautiful on you.

As for your sandals, I think they're really beautiful too and match perfectly with your dress. They're dressy and perfect for a destination wedding. Being from Canada, the price was converted to Canadian dollars and they came up to $196! Lol so $150 for you is a steal compared to what we'd pay for in our dollars

Like @@acw271011 said, a lot of brides have been buying Badgley Mischka, including me I love shoes so they were important to me. I found them on sale at 6pm.com and they shipped them on time. Try looking there because they have a lot of designer shoes. If you like the blue so,es, they also carry Blue by Betsey Jonhson.

@@Wafflesmom ooooh.  I forgot about 6pm!!  I'll have to check it out.  It's probably one of those things where if I feel the need to ask if it's too much, it probably is :)

I'm annoyed right now because I have so many decor ideas I want to get down before I forget them......but, as it is wont to do, work really got in the way this week, and it's going to end up being a long post that will take some time and energy.   Why can't they just give me my paycheck and let me spend all day on this site???  :)

@@acw271011 I know huh? I'm a size 5 and it was the only site I could find badgley mischka in my size, and on sale too! If you see shoes you like, wait until around the 4th of July. I'm sure they'll have some sales then. I'll pm you in case I get a promo code!

@@LeighC I don't mind spending a lot for shoes, especially for my wedding. I just wouldn't have expected that much for sandals from etsy! And I agree about just getting paid to spend all day on this site. I just moved into a new office, I may have to close the door to wedding plan while at work lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
