@@yycbride2016 Woo! Glad you had a great time at your shower :)

Great find with your ceremony shoes - I think you'll be so happy you got them. Also love your reception shoes! So sparkly!

Your groomsman will love those watches; very generous gift and so practical.

12 days! Hope you shake your cold ASAP.

Wow! You are so close. Glad you had a nice time at the shower and that you got a few goodies :) and you look great in that dress!

Looks like your ceremony sandals are from Le Chateau? I could use a pair like that. Were they $60?

And I love the sock sleeves. So cute! How did you make them?

@@yycbride2016 Your shower looked so nice  :) we had ours on the same day!  Your shoes are great!  I wish I could get away with wearing sexy heels and not tower over everyone!

Love the sock labels!  What a cute idea!

The guys will love the watches, we did the same, Armani watches for the guys and got them during a great sale at Watch Station.

Just looked at your counter - 10 days!!! OMG!  So exciting :)  You must be buzzing!

@@calgarybride2015 thanks! It was lots of fun. So nice to see people.

@@krystalball it was lots of fun! And the presents were a bonus. But I really wish people didn't spend money on us. I got my dress from winners back in July. But I have seen some new white lace ones there recently. Watches are such a great gift for the guys. So classy and they can use them over and over and think of our wedding every time they wear them!

@@ashhtayy thanks! I'm so happy with both pairs of shoes. It's also a bonus that if my reception shoes end up being uncomfortable I can switch back into the ceremony shoes!

@@vancouverpetunia I know! It's creeping up faster than expected hah. and thanks Hun! I love that dress. I'm going to wear it for my legal ceremony. Yup the ceremony shoes from le chateau were $60. The sick sleeves I made on the computer, printed onto card stock and then hit glued them together.

@@deecol it was so nice! How was yours? It's so fun to get everyone together one last time before the big day! And yes! I'm loosing my mind over here. This time next week will be my big day!! Ahhh

Mini freak out update haha:

Sorry I've been so MIA lately. All this planning, being sick, work, etc has gotten crazy! We leave on Saturday but have so much to do before then.

This weekend we took out all of the wedding stuff that we are bringing with us to re-box and organize and figure out how much we have. I knew how much we have but Kyle didn't. Let's just say it was a shock to him. Sorry to throw some of you under the bus but I told him it's not as much as some of the other brides bring Hahahaha. Tried to get away with it. He didn't mind in the end. I actually numbered each box and made an excel spreadsheet that says what is in each box and how much each box weighs. This way we will know who has what in each box in their suitcases. Especially incase they get stopped at customs. We will be giving family members a box each to carry I think.

This is most of what we have to bring:

I finished making our welcome packages for each guest. Contents:

- welcome brochure

- map of resort

- waterproof phone case for each guest

- 2 custom postcards

- door hanger

I'm back to not knowing if I should do my make up or get it done. My mum threw a wrench in the loop yesterday saying she might get her makeup done. And I know if she gets hers done I want to get mine done. And my mother in law now says the same thing. My only concern is the longevity of their makeup vs mine. Do you girls think they would use some of my products if I asked? Like primers? And lashes? I bought some new lashes this weekend to try. I have a decision between lots of different ones post-283167-145563587209_thumb.jpg

These are the ones I think I will go with (ignore my horrible eyebrows, I'm getting them done on Friday and it's killing me to wait haha) post-283167-14556359193_thumb.jpg

Also did our chalkboards. I still have one more to do and that will be the guestbook sign. But I'll do that probably Thursday because right now it's our countdown sign haha. I might have to buy one more so we can have a custom drink sign.

Tonight we are going to get our marriage license. Nothing like last minute haha. Then it will be cleaning the house like crazy! My parents arrive tomorrow!!

Wednesday:

My parents arrive in the evening so I will be making dinner for them. Then once the my go off to my sisters house for the night I will start packing. This is also my final day of work before the break!

Thursday:

Getting my legs and arms sugared (like wax but natural)

Then getting my hair done!

My mum is spending the evening with me while my dad and sister go to a Brad Paisley concert (I got them tickets cheap through work so they are happy).

Friday:

Getting my eyebrows done with my mum (finally!)

Then it's manicure/pedicure time with my mum.

Wax

Then I need to get my rings inspected and cleaned and then.....

LEGAL CEREMONY!!!

My mother in law is picking up tacos from the catering company we hired for our reception. And we can enjoy those after the ceremony!

Saturday:

Fly to Mexico!!!!

Those lashes are so glam!! Those will definitely glam up your look. I honestly wish I added another set of lashes on top of my extensions. It would've showed a lot more in pictures.

Are they getting their makeup done by the resort? That would be my only concern. I don't always hear the best things about some resort make-up. I'd say go with styling trio if they are an approved vendor. They look like they do an amazing job!

As for longevity.. My makeup stayed all night and I made sure to prime it, set it x 10 haha and I also used my laura mercier powder. I had a chance to run back to my room really quick before the reception.. so I did and I put on some more laura mercier just in case. It kept my face dry/matte the entire time and I never looked sweaty. I think by around 10pm my makeup wasn't as nice, but it was still there and stayed pretty well. I didn't care though, our photographer/videographer was gone by then and I was drunk and dancing the night away hahah. No one cares at that point, they all have beer goggles on anways!! :P

Can I also just add that you are naturally very beautiful. You are going to look great so don't overthink it at all!

Also, don't worry too much about customs and your luggage etc. The cancun airport is going to be crazy busy and they probably aren't even going to bother to check or give you any sort of difficulty. Not even one person in our group got stopped or checked. :)

@@yycbride2016 I can't believe you leave this weekend!! You are so close!!

Everything looks amazing and your pile of stuff is nothing, I definitely brought a lot more than that and we didn't pay anything extra for luggage! (You can tell Kyle that if it makes him feel better! ;) )

I agree with @ that sometimes resort make up can be hit and miss...are there good reviews for the spa from Grand Sirenis? I lucked out in that department...our spa was amazing and used mac products. Maybe check to see what products they have (if you have time - this week is going to fly by). If you go with the spa at the resort I would definitely upgrade to airbrush. That will definitely help prolong your make up for sure!  :)

Can't wait to see how it all turns out! As we all say now...breathe, soak it in and enjoy your wedding week!!

@@yycbride2016 my shower was beautiful thanks for asking :0  I posted some details in my thread.

Everything looks amazing!!!  You have done such a great job!

I think eyelash extensions are always a good idea and will glam up any look, something you won't regret for sure!  Like @ and @@snswedding2016 both said, resort make up can be a hit/miss unless you have reviews and the name of a specific artist there.  Because I'm a control freak, I'm doing mine myself, and I personally have never liked when people have done my make up.  You're trials look really good and you're a beautiful girl so I think if at the end of the day you take your make up into your own hands you won't be disappointed.  But if it's one thing off your plate and helps you to relax on your special day then it might be worth getting it done.

Also, where did you get your waterproof phone cases?!?!  Sorry if I've missed it in your thread.

I feel the same @@deecol I had one MUA do my makeup here in Toronto and I loved her, but she was $300 just to do my bachelorette makeup and that's the only person that I trusted. I think i'm also a bit of a control freak too haha we are too much alike.

Also, you will have a tan! Don't forget that. We all look good with a glow :)

I felt that I didn't really need as much makeup as I had originally planned because I was really embracing my tan

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
