Yycbride2016 Grand Sirenis Planning Thread February 2016

@@ashhtayy thanks! I'm really excited to show the bridesmaids. It's sort of a surprise because I wasn't going to have bridesmaids bouquets. My sister the maid of honor has seen them but the others haven't.

Weekend update:

Got a fair amount done again this weekend from the to do list. I did the majority of my printing projects!

This is our welcome brochure for all of the guests. I only printed one as a test. I am going to print them all closer to when we leave incase the timeline of events changes. post-283167-145309185693_thumb.jpgpost-283167-145309186831_thumb.jpg

I also designed small postcards to go into their welcome packages: post-283167-145309182201_thumb.jpg

These are our door hangers for the guests in their welcome packages:

post-283167-145309179784_thumb.jpg

Each guest will also have a little welcome tag tied into the welcome package. We will also tie little thank you cards where we can write a personalized message to each persons gifts. And then I have loads of these Social media cards to hand out at both the Mexican wedding and our AHR: post-283167-145309178019_thumb.jpg

Kyle also got his suit fitted today so that's a big stress off our plate! Should be done and ready by end of the week! He also bought his dress shirt at the bay on sale today too! He just needs to go buy new dress shoes I think.

I also dropped my engagement ring off to get rhodium dipped. I'll be without it for like 2-3 weeks :( it's going to be so awkward.

I also found a cute lace dress for either the bachelorette or my bridal shower. These are the two dresses I have now:

@yycbride2016  Oh I love the dresses! They're adorable! I'm so sorry I forgot the link to the Lulu's site. Here it is:  www.lulus.com  Sadly it's a US site but the prices are so reasonable... I got a dress for my son's girlfriend that she was supposed to wear for our renewal and all in - exchange, delivery, etc - it was just over a hundred bucks. I think about $140. Not sure now with the super crappy exchange how bad it will be but the site is still worth a look. You're so tiny there are a ton of things on the site that would be great on you!

All of your printed materials look great! I love the ink colour!! I can't believe your wedding is as close as it is too!! Sofia has had hers, Shavonne has had hers, Perian too. Stephanie. Wafflesmom leaves Tuesday. Then yours. Then we start with all the spring brides!! I can't believe how quickly the time goes by. Just means I'm getting older faster I guess. lol

@@yycbride2016 Love both of the dresses. I have something similar to #1 for our welcome cocktail. All of the stationery items are great as well. I am working on ours now, so was checking yours out for ideas. FYI I believe you have the wrong spelling for bathroom. It's bano with a squiggly thing over the N. Haha that's the technical terms.

Wow!! Good eyes Erin! I totally missed that!! @@yycbride2016 Erin is absolutely right. It should be baño and not the spelling that you have!

Your Welcome literature and cards look great. I am so jealous of all the brides on here as you are all so artistic! I am rubbish at that sort of thing!

Lucky we eloped and I didn't need to test out how bad I was lol

Ahh thanks @@acw271011 I really didn't want to spend much on dresses. All together these two dresses totaled at $40! I'm a bargain hunter haha. I ended up wearing a brand new gold dress from winners to my bachelorette. I will post pics. It only cost $21 as it was on a crazy discount!

Thanks for the spelling catch ladies @@vancouverpetunia. I will fix that ASAP before they all get printed!!

Update:

So we've got a couple things done but not much really. We have all of our rental items booked for our AHR and we also did an IKEA shopping trip to get a few items for the event. So at least that is done and done!

Kyle is looking into our sound equipment needs for the atr as well!

We are also looking into honeymoon options. Everything is crazy at the moment with the exchange rate. We were going to book Hawaii but the prices got insane with the exchange rate so we cancelled that option. We really want to do Costa Rica but it's also quite expensive. We are back looking at some high end resorts in Mexico now. I didn't want to do Mexico two times this year but it might be all we can afford. Plus I'm being a princess and wants 10 day holiday haha.

The Dress! I picked up my dress Thursday after work. It fits perfectly. It's a little strange in the chest because I actually have a super small chest so she sewed in cups and now I have a boob job without the price tag or surgery hahaha. But it fits and I'm happy! The lighting in these photos doesn't compliment it at all but you get the point. post-283167-145369465286_thumb.jpgpost-283167-145369466195_thumb.jpg

Bachelorette Party!!!

My bachelorette party was last night! It was so much fun! We were about 10 girls at my sisters condo. She hired a makeup artist to come in and teach everyone how to do their makeup! And I had my full makeup done for me! It was amazing!! I loved the pampering. We also played loads of bridal games like how well do you know your groom, how well does everyone know the bride, read the brides mind, help the bride write her vows mad libs (super funny and dirty), and so on! It was a blast! Got to see some friends I Hadn't seen in forever which was so nice! Everyone got prizes and little spa gift bags at the end! It was so cute and my sister did an amazing job! Now I can't wait for my bridal shower in two weeks!! Here are a few photos! You can see them all on Instagram by searching #fromBrideToBrade

Kyle is celebrating his bachelor party next weekend. They are renting golf simulators and watching he NHL all stars competition, drinking beer and eating pizza! Sounds exactly like kyles perfect bro-night! I'm sure he will love it!

Hopefully this week I will tackle the welcome packages, photo booth items, and take a stab at my vows!

Your dress looks gorgeous!!

Glad you had fun that does sound like a super fun time :) and no awful hangover the next day!!! Haha.

4 weeks is seriously going to fly by but your to do list will keep your mind off the anticipation a bit :)

I feel you on the dollar. We considered Hawaii for our anniversary trip but couldn't justify it. Haha Cuba has the same exchange so we just limited what we did but harder in Hawaii when you pay everything yourself and in US! Let us know what you choose! Another idea is fly to Cancun and take a bus to Belize. It's super cheap and fairly quick (flying into Belize is pricey).

I can't believe you're four weeks away right now.. time is flying by!!! I'm really excited for you. The makeup artist did a great job, but she did have a gorgeous canvas to work with! You looked gorgeous the night of your bachelorette.

Love your wedding dress!! They did a great job with the bust area and your comment about a boob job made me giggle.

Try to breathe these next few weeks and enjoy it before it flies by. I wish that I had done that.

Can't wait to see your lovely vision come together :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
