@@calgarybride2015 I've always stayed in Cancun with the exception of Moon Palace which is it Puerto Morelos.. But it's pretty close to Cancun. I'm definitely happy with Cancun if we sway that way. Sun Palace is nice and Adults only and there's a ton of other gorgeous resorts.

Anything that's close! Akumal was not haha

We looked at Rui Cancun for its proximity to the night club area of Cancun.... But I was solely driven on that so I'm sure there are some great resorts :)

Temptations? Hahahah Kidding!!!!!!!!!

Ah man... A BDW trip would be so fun!! I definitely have the travel bug and I would love to jump in on this but we have booked our honeymoon / 10 yr anniversary for April in Jamaica. We are staying at Sunset at the Palms... We stayed there once before and it was awesome..."treehouses" !! It's now a Adults only...That's also when we have decided to start to some baby making ;) Plus even though I would love to go to Mexico because I have never been the husband has some irrational thing against going there lol ...I plan on getting there one day so I'm working on him.. Maybe it have to be on a girls trip

Juan and I are totally on board. I do agree with @@calgarybride2015 that $4000 per person might be a bit much for us hahah, especially if I end up going back to school (which i'll hopefully find out about in the next couple of months).

Early 2017 works for us and I'm sure we can find a good price point for a resort. I might be biased but the Karisma resorts are really high on my recommendation list and some of their resorts are at decent prices. The food alone there is just amazing.

I have been to the RIU Cancun. It's nice, it's close to all the clubs which is a huge plus. We walked there every night and back. The good thing is that if, for example, we stay at the RUI Palace las Americas (right next door to RIU Cancun) we can go visit and eat at any other RIU. With so many people I don't know if that will even be an advantage or if it's just better to stay at our resort every day and save a couple hundred bucks. With that said, the beach is much nicer at the RIU Cancun than the one in Palace las Americas.

I would also love to go back to Playa del Carmen. We didn't have a chance to go visit the town when we were there, but we can always rent a car while in Cancun and drive down there for the day. It's not a big deal.

Adults only works for us, we're not planning on kids for a few years so we're good. But if anyone wants just a regular family resort, we're ok with that too.

Should we make a fb group? Maybe it will be easier to keep the discussions more organized and we can have polls about price points/resorts/locations etc. I can open one up.

@@TinkerSofi so nice to hear from you. Tell me more about school? I started back In September then got on full time with AHS so life has been busy!

I was just throwing the Rui out as one we considered. Totally open to anywhere that's affordable lol. And that said as mentioned night life close by may not be necessary as we will have our own party!!!

Since there would be lots of us I'm totally ok with adults only. Shawn and I went to one alone and found it a bit quiet - I think we were there during a geriatric convention though hahahah

I told Shawn and he got all excited. He's like what if everyone invited friends too - we could have like 200 people bahaha ok stop dreaming :)

Meant to say...

Shawn and I are pretty easy going. Anything under $2000 PP, ideally under $1800 solely cause we've never paid more but are open for the right resort :)

Typically for us it's easier to travel on breaks/holidays as the kids dad doesn't live here so they don't miss school but I realize those often drive up cost so we are flexible with whatever works for everyone. They'll be in grade 6 and I think at that age missing some school isn't going to hinder them!! My kids are on a year round calendar so tend to push normal holidays (i.e. This year xmas break ended mid January)

Otherwise a beach, sun, sand and great times is all we care about :)

Ahhhhhh !! Wow!! Ladies do you think this might actually come together????? This is so totally cool!! So I've had umm "some" wine.... so I'll take a stab at this.

@@calgarybride2015 @@TinkerSofi @@Meandhim @@ashhtayy @ @@deecol @@snswedding2016 ........ I know I'm forgetting people. I would absolutely be up for Cancun for same reason as Kim - I've never been. Sunset Princess would be great too since they have the adults only section if someone didn't want adults only. RIU is also good and I like what Sofia said about Karismas so we'd be up for almost anything. Doug and I were talking on the way to Niagara about it and first words out of his mouth were "adults only right?" lmao that's my husband. He got spoiled at VIM!! I would also absolutely go back to Playa del Carmen and there are good clubs there for night life including Coco Bongo.

@@TinkerSofi has a great idea with a FB group. I don't mind setting one up tomorrow when we're back home unless someone else wants to do it before then. And I'm with Kim on pricing. Doug and I have been spoiled with travel over the years for good deals so not sure if we could stay around $1600 p/p from Toronto? We're definitely foodies too so somewhere that is well rated for food would be up our alley.

Any thoughts on a travel agent?? Dare to give the newbies on this site a try and see what they come up with? Or does anyone have a preference for someone? Not sure if we would get January 2017 pricing yet or not?

We're off for dinner and.... You guessed it - more wine! lol Our room has this massive jacuzzi tub...... hmmm. Had some beautiful wines today. I would highly recommend the Niagara icewine festival if you can get there. Tomorrow and next weekend are last chances but well worth it.

Oh that sounds like so much fun! I know I'm not a GTA bride, but hey we have airplanes out here on the Wet Coast too, you know?

That said, I'm not sure that a Mexico AI is in our plans for 2017, but I would love to be kept in the loop until I rule it out entirely

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
